Curiosity he/him Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Hmmm... The Expendables or the 300?
Guest Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Mistborn: The Hero of Ages? Much larger amount of people killed...
Observer Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 The secret weakness and suicidal bits make me think of Beyonders.
Alfa he/him Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Not yet. Actually, one of the suicides does not work as intended.
ThirdGen Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 (edited) Huh. Didn't expect that to work. A bunch of partly suicidal and ridiculously overpowered terrorists try to kill the biggest employer of the planet, only to find someone else did it first. They then have to save the world from this person. Hint: The main character used to look up to the villain... or did he? Edited November 22, 2015 by ThirdGen
Observer Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 The first bit sounds a lot like Mistborn, but the last bit not so much. MC is male apparently, helps narrow it down, but I've got nothing.
ThirdGen Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 The villain has learned he's special, and wants to please his sort-of mother.
Delightful Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 The plot sounds familiar, but without more details I have no idea.
ThirdGen Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 The best-known aspect of the story is the villain killing the main character's love interest. ...Really, this was one of the most famous scenes of this story's medium for that decade.
Shrike76 he/him Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Doesn't quite fit but, Amazing Spider-Man?
Shrike76 he/him Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 It's a game. A game is the medium in question?
ThirdGen Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 A game is the medium in question? Correct; the story is a video game.
Shrike76 he/him Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Well, it doesn't sound like Super Mario Bros, Tetris, or Duck Hunt, so I think I'm out of this round
ThirdGen Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 The main character and villain are known for having different variations on "really big sword."
Alfa he/him Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 You refer to "the villain". Is this the employer or the onefrom whom to save the world?
ThirdGen Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 The latter. The employer appears to be the villain for the first section of the game until the real villain shows up.
ThirdGen Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 (edited) Nope, it's an RPG. Hint: From the 90s. Edited November 23, 2015 by ThirdGen
