Popular Post cosmosofclay
I haven't seen this anywhere else, but last weekend at Brandons appearance at the book convention in Taiwan, he mentioned that the rights to Emperors Soul have been sold. The movie will be quite different, taking place in a lot of different locations and not just the jail cell that is in the book. And then bigger news hit. One of the producers (maybe the executive producer?) found out about the Cosmere and proceeded to read all of the books. All of them. Now there is interest in putting into film form, think the Marvel universe in film. This is partly possible because the studio that the rights have been sold to worked on the Iron Man movies. Yet again, I don't know if this was announced for the first time in Taiwan, but I can't seem to find the announcement anywhere else and thought is let you guys know what he said while out here! Mistdork she/her
He's mentioned that the rights have been sold before, but he also gave you guys more information, I believe. One, he didn't explain how Emperor's Soul would look as a movie (or what they were planning). That's cool to know that more's coming out of the deal. It seems that someone's a total Sanderdork at that studio, now. Source Edited February 16, 2015 by Nymp
WeiryWriter he/him
Yeah he has mentioned all of that before, for example at the San Francisco signing.
king of nowhere
his books havve been optioned as movies several times and nothing ever came of it. before getting excited, wait until you are sure that the movie will be made and it will be good quality. personally, to me that means waiting until I'm watching the end titles on the screen. that said, tes could stand a better chance than other of his books; it's short enough that it can be adapted more easily, and does not require too much explanations.
Kobold King he/him
I still haven't seen an Emperor's Soul casting thread. Hint hint.
Haradion Drogon
I would be happy to see Any Sanderson adapted into *Anything*.I think the Emperor's Soul could be adapted into Theatre rather well...And I KNOW Elantris has a few fantasy Cliche's in it - but that would make it ideally suited to a Musical Adaption... Meh. I am slipping into madness at this point...

Zas678 he/him
Here's an official post from Tachyon, Emperor's Soul's publisher. http://tachyonpub.tumblr.com/post/112526547283/info-about-the-emperors-soul-movie-revealed EDIT- That really isn't anything that we don't already know. Oh well. Just "Yeah, someone bought the rights to Emperor's Soul!"
Landis963 he/him
I always assumed Emperor's Soul would work better as a stage play (musical numbers on the minor side). Stage trickery has easily advanced enough for things like the spontaneous mural and the pit trap, not to mention that you can refocus it onto being a character study of the central cast of Shai, Gaotona, Frava, and Ashravan very easily if you cut out the fight scenes.
