I cannot fathom how Nightblood fell into his hands, though I suspect Zahel attempted his classic throw-Nightblood-amongst-some-enemies-then-retrieve-Nightblood-when-everyone-is-dead trick, except this time one of those people was a Herald, Nin, who was like, "Dis mine nao, kkthxbye." then flew away while a helpless Zahel looks on.
