Voidus Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Now whenever someone uses the phrase "fossil fuel," I'll picture a dozen velociraptors jogging on a treadmill to generate electricity. Thanks. How did you think the Carlisles were going to power their lab in the MoNA? 2
Kobold King he/him Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 How did you think the Carlisles were going to power their lab in the MoNA? Oregon's going as green as a certain bowler hat, then. 4
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 24, 2015 Author Posted February 24, 2015 Oregon's going as green as a certain bowler hat, then. We don't call him Lightwards the Green for no reason. 4
Kobold King he/him Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 We don't call him Lightwards the Green for no reason. "Vote Lightwards the Green--an environmentalist hero!" --campaign poster found in the Northwest Charfields. Once called "the State of Oregon." 6
Voidus Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 We don't call him Lightwards the Green for no reason. Current list of reasons: Shade of Lightwards skin while ascending to the MoNA. Colour of hat. Use of Prehistoric raptor-power. 3

Additional reasons: His envy for the powers of other High Epics. Because Backtrack started it, and if he ever says it in front of Sam she'll never let anyone forget it. 4
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 24, 2015 Author Posted February 24, 2015 Because Backtrack started it, and if he ever says it in front of Sam she'll never let anyone forget it. Do you promise?

Backtrack's secondary power of coming up with foreshadowing nicknames for people was known to only a few Oregonians. 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 24, 2015 Author Posted February 24, 2015 Backtrack's secondary power of coming up with foreshadowing nicknames for people was known to only a few Oregonians. I'm trying to think: did he ever come up with a foreshadowing nickname for Funtimes?
Kobold King he/him Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 I'm trying to think: did he ever come up with a foreshadowing nickname for Funtimes? Is she the one he called a glittermancer? And his nickname for Khione is "Snowcone Lady;" whether it counts as foreshadowing is yet to be seen. 4
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 24, 2015 Author Posted February 24, 2015 Is she the one he called a glittermancer? And his nickname for Khione is "Snowcone Lady;" whether it counts as foreshadowing is yet to be seen. The dictionary definition of "-mancer" is "a practitioner of a specific type of divination." A necromancer, therefore, is a diviner for the dead; while a glittermancer must be….um….someone who weaponizes glitter? Because Funtimes has done that. Boy, has she done that. Snowcone Lady could be ominous foreshadowing. 2

What Happened in Alaska? An unsettling number of frozen goods, that's what. 1
Newan he/him Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 I wasn't here when people started using red text in their posts. What does it mean?
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 24, 2015 Author Posted February 24, 2015 I wasn't here when people started using red text in their posts. What does it mean? Red means it's planning-related, rather than pony-related.
Kobold King he/him Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 I wasn't here when people started using red text in their posts. What does it mean? It marks certain sentences as important or must-read. It's a way of actually carrying out planning on our planning thread; I don't know if you've noticed, but we have a tendency towards wordiness on the Question threads. 3
Newan he/him Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Wow. That is extremely helpful. Awesome. 1
Kobold King he/him Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 That's like, understatement of the century, Kobold. Above "The Communist Manifesto was well-received" and "Adolf Hitler is often treated negatively in the media"? 3
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 24, 2015 Author Posted February 24, 2015 Above "The Communist Manifesto was well-received" and "Adolf Hitler is often treated negatively in the media"? Or "Nighthound is rather unpleasant"? 2
Kobold King he/him Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Or "Nighthound is rather unpleasant"? Or "Timeport has somewhat misogynistic leanings"? 2
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 24, 2015 Author Posted February 24, 2015 (edited) Or "Timeport has somewhat misogynistic leanings"? Or "Lucentia doesn't seem to like people very much?" Sirce Luckwielder he/him Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Or Sanderson is a fairly good writer. 2
Tulir he/him Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 I decided that the League of Shadows attracted enough attention. Maybe I missed it, but what is their ultimate goal in Astoria?
Aonar he/him Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 (edited) Their ultimate goal? They want to rule Astoria, and use it as a place from which to restore order to Oregon, and then the Fractured States. That's what Azrael tells himself, anyways. (Several of his servants/lieutenants have distinctly different agendas, but Azrael is scary enough that they follow him, for now. ) Their short term goal is to kick Overwatch from the Astoria Column, amalgamating as many of the members of his gang into their own group as possible. From there, Azrael will ingrain himself, learn about the political climate, build up his army/allies, and eventually take control of the city. Of course, that's not going to go anywhere near as smoothly as 'Rael thinks, with all the High Epics running around, but he'll give it a fair shot. Depending on how Vis reacts to the League, do you want to be added in to the planning doc/PM Alan? Edited February 24, 2015 by Aonar Faileas 1

Provided Vis could rule or corule, obviously. Depending on how the meeting goes, that sounds good to me.
Aonar he/him Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 They might be able to negotiate a deal. Alan incoming.
