She holds her brother in reserve. If a receptionist really ticks her off, she'll have her brother stand just outside a window and stare at her, smirking for hours at a time.

...or am I not helping?:P

Huh. Good question. Dark chocolate, perhaps? Very dark? CorpseMaker's would definitely be coffee, though. :P

Not helping. Not at all.:o:P

Strong coffee. :P Lucentia's would be something bitter for sure. And I'm relatively certain Lightwards' would have a toy dinosaur on top. The flavor isn't as important as the toy dinosaur. :P

"Danielle, why are you stapling black curtains over all the windows?"

"Can't let him in. Got to block out his smile. Can't let him get in..."

"Uh... okay. Do you need some time off?"

Best case scenario: the cupcake actually functions as his weakness. Worst case scenario: he'll look ridiculous holding the cupcake. :P

I did consider having him using his illusion abilities to have a little blue light follow him that he calls Navi but I wasn't sure anyone would get the reference :P

That would've been awesome.

The Legend of Zelda series is my favorite video game series, with Wind Waker ranking as my Favorite Game of All Time.

The Adventurer sounds like the kind of gamer who skips through dialouoge. I can see him talking to Lucentia or Lightwards and muttering "b button, b button, b button, b button..."

It occurs to me that Tingle and Funtimes would get on famously.

He'd be searching frantically for the mute button too :P

Haha, definitely.

Edge, I should have the Destructors enter Astoria today or tomorrow, so if you want Mary to see that, we can plan that.

Sounds good to me, tanks should be easy enough to notice.

Hearing her talk might count as a comprehension minigame, what with her "great googly mooglys" and all that. :P

Would Lucentia's power level make her a boss, or would her constant complaining make her an endurance minigame?:P

The reason the Metal is the most powerful Epic: He has a mute button for everything.

So it's official, my first popular post in the RP is Neverthere's date with Numnums. I am unsure how to feel about this.

And the second one is the Adventurer.

Edge, I think Someone asked this already, but I'm still confused. I just read over Mary's profile again and I'm not sure how she's able to know everything going on in the city. She can only move through blood and control it. How does she talk/listen/see through that?

(Maybe I should clarify her profile a bit, it seems that a video game reference wasn't the best description. )

When connecting two places she can't only move herself through it but everything, including sound and light. Given that she was long enough in Astoria without dying she has essentially assimilated most everyone with her blood, which lets her use the population almost like security cameras. She still isn't omniscient but it's enough to keep tab on the important stuff.

[petulant Lucentia-style complaint]

You know what makes me shake in futile frustration? The fact that any of us would kill for even the most basic Reckonerverse question to be answered, while all of the people who attend Firefight signings ask nothing but Cosmere questions.

That is not a Lucentia-style complaint. Lucentia's complaints can be replaced with the song "First World Problems," while your complaint is entirely valid.

This is rather well founded in comparision to Lucentia's complaints. It's made worse by so many things in the Reckonerverse being unknown while the Cosmere is rather well understood, at least in the bounds Brandon isn't RAFOing. Sure there are still interesting questions but they are magnitudes smaller than what could be asked about the Reckonerverse.

I somehow feel the carving to create something pony related but feel a lack of creativity, any ideas/requests ect?

Would it be a Lucentia-style complaint to complain about how my bacon was so delicious that my farm-fresh fried eggs were inferior by comparison? :P

It's just that we have enough Cosmere WoBs to fill a book of their own, while we didn't even know that Houston, San Diego, and Phoenix were obliterated until the new book told us so. Just a little info about the major Epics of the world would be nice, and could even help us flesh out the backstories of characters. If nothing else, worldbuilding's awesome to hear about, but no one but us seems interested in it at all. :(

And it's like the people who ask those questions don't even comprehend the irony of what they're doing. "Let's go to this signing so we can have Brandon answer questions about an entirely different universe!" And I have a feeling they'd be seriously annoyed if a Reckoners fan asked Reckoners questions at a Cosmere signing.

Pony related? You could do a Scumbag Steelheart meme about people who ask Cosmere questions at Reckoners signings. <_<

I wouldn't go so far as to call them Scumbag Steves Steelhearts. I understand their curiosity, and you can bet that if I were at a Mistborn signing, I'd ask at least one Reckoners question.

I'm just annoyed because I'm enormously curious about the Fractured States, and I'd love to have a better understanding of the global political climate. We could even put many Reckonerverse factoids to good use in the RP, either incorporating them into character's backstory like with Nathan's past in Fortuity, or by adding them to basic traits of the setting, like how Snowfall aides in making the weather funky in Oregon.

Pony-related? How 'bout a Lucentia or Astorian comic? :D

Before reading Steelheart myself I actually got a feeling that the books aren't all that liked because they take away time from the Cosmere. Something like that and people bringing too much science into Cosmere magic kinda worries me sometimes.

Something like this?

I'll think about it.

I just wish people would ask about Nightwielder more, he's the one that still confuses me the most. I can guarantee that if he was in a cosmere novel we'd have a dozen theories and about a hundred WoBs on him by now.

Okay, I'll try to get it up today.

Ah, okay, that makes more sense now. I didn't realize she could move light and sound. So, how has she assimilated all this blood? Is it similar to what Canis did in having all his citizens create a small cut in themselves and then he touched each person's?

The best way to solve this is just to have us all post some Reckoners questions in the Signing threads so that people will see them and think to ask about them. I see that some of you have already done so.

I was thinking about the Metal's ablity to intensify or lessen sound and I was wondering; does he sing extremely girly songs in the shower and use his powers so his macho man reputation is upheld? I can't get that though out of my head.

And thus, the Metal's reputation stays as indestructible as his skin. :P

Lightwards, meanwhile, has nothing to shield his reputation from the songs he sings in the shower. <_<:P

Especially not the recording devices Funtimes totally didn't install to record things like that.:P

Why can't I view this forum as a guest?

The ways of the mysterious wizards who run the sites engine are still vastly unknown.

That's a bug we've known about for a while now. Unfortunately none of us has a better answer than "forum wizards;" reckon someone should shoot Chaos a PM an Alan?

A random thought I just had. If Funtimes were a Mistborn in the Final Empire, would she wear a pink mistcloak covered in glitter? Would Nathan be a skaa that she rescued from a sadistic nobleman?

Yes, definitely, and absolutely. The "absolutely" is in answer to your next question: "Would she refuse to use atium because of how shiny it was, preferring to put it in her hair and viciously attack any meanieface who attempted to steal it?" :P

There is a French term called esprit de l'escalier. (I think I spelled that right. Literally "spirit of the staircase," it refers to any time you think of the perfect thing to say when it's too late to actually say it-- like the perfect retort when you're on the stairs after leaving your friend's apartment.

I experienced this today when I thought to post "Are there any other notable Epic despots in the West, in states like California, Arizona, Wyoming, Alaska, and so on?" ....AFTER the Chicago signing was already underway. <_<
