Meanwhile Sam looks on in bewilderment before blurting "You're crying? Epics aren't allow to cry!"

In ordinary cases Sam would quit picking on someone if she suspected she was actually hurting their feelings (especially if they cried about it.) With Backtrack though she'd make an exception, seeing as how he sold out her family and all. :P

She would be well within her rights to do that. Also, it's a very good thing Funtimes isn't a mind reader, because if she heard this thought right here....

She didn't need her entire family, did she?

....Backtrack's day would grow worse from there.

That's the worst part of Calamity. It gives awesome power, but the morality it takes is far more precious than what it gives in return. :(

But yeah. Until his redemptive arc progresses further, Backtrack's most definitely a slontze, and I can see Team Funacid rightly viewing him as such.

If Calamity isn't a jerk, Sanderson will have to work VERY hard to convince me otherwise.

Yeah...I'm all for sympathy, but when you're complaining about getting shot in the arm to a bunch of people who faced death and had their families murdered, it's kind of difficult to feel anything but scorn. Especially when that person insists he's had it worse.

But when Backtrack mentioned he had met the great Metronome all was forgiven as team Funacid joined him in the corner to cower in fear of the worlds greatest Epic!

If anyone could do it though, it would be Sanderson. (Did you read the whole Mistborn trilogy, or just the first one? Does the name "Ati" mean anything to you?)

Backtrack's never met Metronome. If he had, he'd be too terrified to speak at all. :P

I got about halfway through the second before my course load compelled me to hold off on the rest. But I've heard what he does with TLR's characterization.

Firefight spoilers:

Still. Not only did Calamity agree to give David powers that were guaranteed to make him murder his friends, he was on speaking terms with Regalia. And he was willing to answer her requests. Anyone who is willing to comply with Regalia's demands is morally challenged at best, in my opinion.

Are you kidding? I'm a little frightened of Metronome and I've seen some things. I worked Black Friday! :P

But we do only have Regalia's word for all that, I've wondered at the connection between Calamity and Dawnslight, what if Dawnslight is his sick younger brother and Regalia's been holding him hostage?

I'll admit, I wasn't particularly fond of the latter books. (Don't spike me for saying so. :P) But yes. Brandon Sanderson is brilliant at pulling twists and reveals on his readers.

What. A. Slontze. The biggest slontze in the entire Reckonerverse.

Also, Calamity. Calamity's bad too.

Uh oh. Voidus, when can we expect a "Black Friday" Epic? :P

I hadn't thought of that, but that would be an awesome twist. Still, Calamity HAS to know that the powers he's giving out are corrupted. He has to have seen what happened in places like Newcago and Houston. Maybe he's being forced into it; I don't know. But he has to have some knowledge of what his powers do to people.

And here we see the worst person who has ever existed. She's standing next to Hitler.

Hitler can be seen attempting to ward her away with a crucifix.

On another note, in Australia Black friday means something completely different, it was some of the worst bushfires we've had, so I guess a fire Epic then?

Yikes. Here's it just a day where too many people go shopping. Australia is intense. :o

In the US, Black Friday means different things to different people. To those who like to shop, it's a day when you can get great deals if you get to the stores early enough. To retail workers, it means he'll on earth as hordes of angry shoppers descend upon the store, directing their fury on you because you DARED take a crappy job at a store that doesn't stock the obscure brand of slippers they wanted!

...

Yeah, go with the fire Epic.

@Edgedancer I meant resistant to Epic powers as in powers that directly affect stuff. So if an Epic shot fire at a Shadow, it would not be affected much. But if an Epic with superstrength dropped a rock on one, it would be crushed.

Well someone's speaking from brutal personal experience again.:P

Unrelated, but is there already an Angel Zoe Finch pony, or do I need to drop everything and rush to the creator?

Oh dear. No there is not.

She's not on the Epics of Oregon thread either.

...Not that I'm one to talk. I still haven't added Sam and Revolution to my post. :P

I'm torn between making a Unicyclist pony and resigning myself to the fact that the creator doesn't have anything remotely similar to a kilt or Darth Vader mask. :(

I wonder how easy it would be to recolor a picture of Pinkie Pie on her unicycle while pasting the head of one of the Darth Vader ponies on the internet over her shoulders.

Well, I tried for a while but this is the best Mark I I could manage.

Glad you like her! :) We'll see what mail-mi has to say about her.

I found a few tutorials for drawing unicorn auras, but they're all written for programs I've never heard of.:P
