Kobold King he/him Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Either one of those would make sense. And Vondra is a wise man. "Nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure" is the only sensible response to Nighthound. "But isn't your job to protect The Dalles, Mr. Mayor?" "Better to be a radioactive crater than to have Michael Jäger in our town limits. You can quote me on that." I vote rending obviously. On a positive note, if Nighthound went to the Dalles, Quicksilver would be able to kill him fairly easily. I still think Nighthound should be reserved for Ray and the Unicyclist to kill in unison. Anything else would be anticlimatic. 4

I don't doubt he could. But would he? I can't imagine Nighthound going through a vanilla-run border checkpoint without slaughtering every vanilla in his vicinity. Which could escalate his involvement in the town politics pretty rapidly.
Fatebreaker he/him Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Wouldn't Nighthound's aura of pure despicable slimyness alert everyone though? I can see the Dalles Guards standing shoulder to shoulder with pandas, united against a common evil. But I do agree, Ray should land the finishing blow. 2

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 (edited) Kobold has a point. It doesn't seem like Nighthound's style to walk through a vanilla-run city in the midst of a panda invasion and not add to the casualties. And I too vote for Ray finishing him off. Normally he would but in this situtation he might just not want to bother. (To be fair I have it in my head-canon that Lucentia would essentially demand Ray as a coleteral to make sure that Nighthound actually comes back, so that changes his priorities.) He would still kill people but not to the point were it would stand out in the war that's going on. What would Vondra's/the Dalles reaction be to him essentially going "You can just give me the wimp or I'll start slaughtering you as well, so just spare us all the trouble." 2

I think... if Backtrack were an established member of The Dalles City Guard--or a vanilla citizen, for that matter--Vondra would declare Nighthound an enemy and try to fight him off. With the current situation, and the fact that Backtrack doesn't actually hold a position in town, he'd agree to hand him over. The decision would be made easier by the fact that Backtrack won't actually request asylum, and will accompany Nighthound back to Portland of his own free will. (Wailing and crying the whole way, of course. )

Steve and Michael's HORRIBLE ADVENTURE? Kind of like Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, but with the title adjusted for accuracy? 2
Kobold King he/him Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Steve and Michael's HORRIBLE ADVENTURE? Kind of like Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, but with the title adjusted for accuracy? Pretty much. In the event that Backtrack fails to retrieve his glasses before being dragged back to Portland, would Funtimes make him a new pair?
Edgedancer he/him Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Who would have the most to put up with? Backtrack with Nighthound's creepiness, or Nighthound with Backtrack's incessant sobbing? I don't think Nighthound would put up with the sobbing for very long. So yeah, Backtrack gets the short end of the stick.

Voidus Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 If he asks nicely. But there's nothing stopping her from making a few modifications to his new pair. Like a mechanical hand that slaps him whenever he starts crying? 3
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 Like the ability to shoot out laser beams? Only if she decides she likes him. I was thinking more like a recording device when she learns he was off doing Lightwards' bidding. But the laser beams are a good idea. 3

I was thinking more like a recording device when she learns he was off doing Lightwards' bidding. But the laser beams are a good idea. Could she stomach listening to the recorded intel, though? 99% of it would be him crying and/or grumbling to himself about how much his life sucks. It might be a bit of a downer even for Funtimes.

Funtimes calls him a whiny poopie head, Sam calls him a slontze, Revolution shoots down his pathetic attempts at flirting and Remington tells him to man up. I think a Backtrack/Team Funacid meeting is long overdue. 4

Look, I didn't mean to make you cry...*sigh* You have a favorite Doctor?" Meanwhile Sam looks on in bewilderment before blurting "You're crying? Epics aren't allow to cry!" In ordinary cases Sam would quit picking on someone if she suspected she was actually hurting their feelings (especially if they cried about it.) With Backtrack though she'd make an exception, seeing as how he sold out her family and all. 1
