I have been talking with Edgedancer and here are the current roles of my charcters. If you want to meet up or anything just send me a PM.

Lockvault just entered Astoria and is working on infiltrating the underground. If people need to know about their rivals or get him to do any sort of job, as a vanilla or as and Epic they can contact him through me.

Winterspell is in charge of the river. There is a massive bridge made of ice that enables people to move to either side of the river. The bridge also doubles as a fortification and blockade. If somebody wishes to pass, they need to go through him to do so. Connected to the middle of the bridge by a smaller bridge of ice is a massive castle that he lives in. He holds parties and receptions there.

Lightwrought is under Lucentia's government in that she keeps the skies looking good. She will use them to send color coded messages in wartime, but usually it just changes the general outlook of the sky and clouds. Most sunsets and sunrises are spectacular due to her skills. She typically lives in Winterspell's palace, and the two have a semi-relationship as of now. The sunsets and such that she makes look even more amazing as the light bends and warps in his palace. This is one of the main reasons that Winterspell holds parties.

I think I missed most of the political alignment stuff in Astoria, can someone give me a rundown?

Lucentia: The ruler of the city, you already know her from Portland.

Deathgale: Essentially Lucentia's second in command, deal with most of the offical work.

Bloody Mary: What you would call a spymaster. Mostly deals with behind the scene work, to the point that the full extend of her powers aren't openly known.

The Metal: In two words: the Heavy. Was already running around in town before Lucentia came, is considered by the long time citizens of Astoria akin to a natural disaster.

the Financier: Doesn't really hold any political power but is used to multiply the supplies of the town and has that whole church of Singularity thing going. Pretty much the Conflux of the city, even if he's somewhat better off.

And (in a meta sense) the newest additions Winterspell and Lightwrought, you can read the details about them one post above yours.

While other Epics exsist they are negligible.

Adventurer post is up in Astoria, I imagine he'll quickly come to the attention of Bloody Mary with his near continuous teleportation, he's not very subtle.
Also what are we doing with Astorian characters weaknesses? Posting them to Edge? Twi? Both? Writing them out in flammable ink and burning it, sending their spirit to the Almighty?

I vote for all three options, but the first two in particular. :P

Which reminds me that I need to develop a weakness for Sharkbait.

Firefight spoilers

It seems like his weakness would most likely be sharks from what we know of him so far, which would be somewhat odd.

Clownfish, using Finding Nemo as a source. Clearly Bruce and co. were trying to face their fears of eating their friends by bringing Marlin and Dory to their meeting. :P

Voidus, will you post the League of Shadows one more time? I promise I'll save it and not ask you again. I just can't find it.

League of Shadows:

Shadowstep: Shadow merging passive ability, merges into any shadows he comes into contact with, allowing instant travel across a shadow or seeming invisibility while hiding in the shadow. Former member, currently in the MEE.

Flicker: Can teleport only while in shadows, can also produce an EMP which temporarily shorts out electronics.

Nightshade: Can ‘pull’ an object or beings shadow from the ground causing it to become a 3 dimensional object capable of everything the possessor of the shadow is capable of (Excluding Epic abilities), living shadows will obey orders given by Nightshade

Midnight Tears: Can suck all light from a room, becomes completely intangible when in darkness however can solidify parts of his body at will however any parts of his body that become solid while still in darkness slowly exude a thick black liquid. Typically gouges out his victims eyes to kill them, leaving his signature ‘black tears’ on the corpse.

DarkQuake: Can cause any shadows to become a solid surface and also capable of sending ripples or vibrations through that surface.

Twilight spark: Technically an energy Epic however his energy constructs draw in light from around them, capable of creating replicas of living beings which can act with a degree of free will but will obey any of his mental commands.

Eclipse: Illusionist who creates a bright halo around himself, but shrouds his body itself in darkness. The halo is bright enough to blind anyone looking directly at it.

I'll add them to my second post on the Epics of Oregon thread.

Very true.

Maybe... maybe his weakness could instead be being entirely submerged in water, since that's where he was when the shark attacked him and he probably couldn't swim as well with one arm? That's all that comes to mind at the moment, and it could give Blackwave another way to keep him under control I suppose.

Also, I'm still running for President on the "_____ for President" thread. Vote for me today and you'll get one free ponification of your choice. ;)

What does everyone think for the upper bounds on Nightshade's power? Airplane? Skyscraper? Earth?

Posted (edited)

Well, unless Mobius decides to have a moon-party, I doubt he'll ever get into a position where he could shadow-clone the earth. :P The moon, maybe. Good question though.

I somehow think letting him shadow-clone celestial bodies is a bad idea though, so maybe limit him to medium-sized buildings? He can't control inanimate objects after he copies them, so that shouldn't be too OP'ed.

What would his limit be on complexity? If he could copy a plane, would it function? That might affect where his upper bound should be.

I wouldn't be opposed to that, for the record. :P

His powers are largely limited by circumstance so I didn't give him an upper limit, at night I suppose that would technically mean he could pull an earth out of the ground but it would probably take longer than the night would last to do so, so I don't think he'll be doing that anytime soon :P

But yeah a decent sized building sounds like a reasonable limit.

So assuming he could Shadow a plane, would it run out of fuel? Also, does he have a limit on how many Shadows he can control at a time?

I wouldn't be opposed to that, for the record. :P

Perhaps I'll WHOOC it...

The shadow plane would essentially be a functionally identical clone of the original so it would run out of fuel at the same time the original would have. Although if he still had the original he could just clone it again.
Headcanon gives him a limit on the number of living shadows he can control, but no limit on non-living shadows.

Thanks Voidus.

Hey Panda, it's past Valentine's Day. Where's our post?

Voidus, when you were coming up with Midnight's powerset, did you decide whether or not the black fluid had any special properties?

By the way, Kobold, here's Vondra's pony code:

I didn't, I just thought it was a cool signature 'I was here' type thing when I was thinking about ghosts and ectoplasm but it definitely could. I'm happy for you to change him as much as you want.

Hey Panda, it's past Valentine's Day. Where's our post?

You might want to PM me about it next time. Messages can be easily missed in the deluge of posts that comprise the Question threads.

Well, I'm having barely enough time or inspiration to write my current RP - as I have said before, this year has been fairly busy. I wasn't planning to make a Valentines post.

Edgedancer, I'm assuming if Blackwave were to get a bounty on Lucienta's head, you wouldn't be willing to let her die?

Joe, since you're online and I'm stocking the Pony Vault once more, do you still have the Blackwave pony code?

Posted (edited)

No. I need to remake the Pony. My brother downloaded a Virus that deleted all my files. Sorry.

Sorry to hear that. :( I'll try to track it down and remake it. I've got too much free time on my hands anyway. :P
