TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 16, 2015 Author Posted February 16, 2015 This could be cool. What Epic is it and do you want them to meet up, have him or her set up a contract with Lockvault? I think so too. We have been having some amazing sunsets the last few weeks and I wanted to integrate that into an Epic when I saw that Astoria was covered in diamonds. I agree, but if he was only in Vancouver two or three weeks before leaving for Astoria, they probably wouldn't have met. And even if they had, she wouldn't have had her powers yet, so I don't know how that would've panned out. And I love the sky setting detail. This is going to be awesome.

And even if they had, she wouldn't have had her powers yet, so I don't know how that would've panned out. Oops, sorry. I misread your first question and thought you asked how long it took him to get to Astoria. He was in Vancouver for a while. If he wanted to infiltrate and work his way around he would need lots of time to establish himself. A year and a half is a bit longer than I was thinking, but I wouldn't mind stretching it for this. And I love the sky setting detail. This is going to be awesome. Yeah. I am pretty excited for this. I also am planning on having at least one more Epic in Astoria besides these two, Winterspell. Edgedancer is helping me find a place to integrate him, but once that is done he should be fun to write.

Even to just meet up with other Epics would be cool. We can hash out the details through PM and decide there where it should lead. Thanks.

Mailliw73 he/him Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 You'd be interested in taking part, then? Me too. Yes, I would. Switching characters would be pretty fun. There isn't exactly an order yet, given that most people didn't get their first post in yet. If you want something to happen I could let one of the authorities (most likely the Metal) investigate what Brightdeath did. I just need Mail-mi to write a Metalmech post and then once we get that final collabo post up, I'll get them to Astoria. Whooks and Alans. We'll have our very own WHIO dialect before too much longer. I just realized that neither I nor anyone else has yet ponified Stephen Vondra. I'll work on that dictionary. WHOOC: (n) A place where things crazier than normal may happen. (Adj) Used to describe a scenario that is implausible beyond normal Oregon standards. Ex: Nighthound being a nice grandpa? That's a whooc idea! (V) To create something that could never happen in canon. Ex: Today, I whooced about Lightwards being an environmentalist Reckoner. Alan: (v) to send someone a private message usually concerning matters related to the Oregon RP. I was talking eith Edgedancer this morning about having an Epic that could change the colors of the skies and clouds in Astoria. Since the city has so many diamonds, they could refract the different lights and look freaking awesome. HavIng such a citywide effect she would be under Lucentia's thumb and would keep the sky to her specifications. Mainly it would look different colors and the sunrises and sunsets would be purely fantastic. Here is the profile that I intend for her. I appreciate any feedback. Epic Name: Lightwrought Real Name: Melissa Tint Gender: Female Age: 42 -First power is illusions. She can create powerful illusions within 100 feet of herself. -Second power is that she can make sky tints. She can change the colors of the sky to make it look drastically different. She can do this in a radius of 10 miles. She uses this to make days where the clouds look stormy, but aren't, spectacular sunests, different colored clouds, skies, and sun, etc. She does this based on her whims and it can change in an instant. It usually is correlated with her mood. -Third power is that she can consume and eminate light. She can drain light from an area and drench it in shadows or create a nova of brightness. Personality: She wears a dress that flows and usually changes it to match or compliment how the sky looks. She is normally unconcerned and actually happy and fun for an Epic, but she can have the temper of a storm if she is threatened or riled up. This sounds really cool. Am I the only one who wonders what the Listeners are? 2
Edgedancer he/him Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Edgedancer, who would put a bounty on Lucienta's Head? Cause that's Blackwave's Main motivation for heading to Astoria. Good question. She's been rather secluded in her own city the last couple years, so it would either have to be based on an old grudge. What could also work is that the bounty is actually for Nighthound and he just tracked down their connection. Might I also congratulate you for making Blackwave another badchull (and probably also charismatic) villain. I might do that. Short Lightwards post up, with a surprise POV for those of you who weren't in a certain PM conversation. Oh Numnums, why you so dinosaur. Neverthere would be very happy with a regurgitated Herbivore if Numnums is still courting Lady got problems it seems. Yeah. Exactly as I thought. Not directly. Gases are more difficult for her to manipulate—although by this point, she hasn't yet tried—so she couldn't change a bowl of pudding into oxygen. She could, however, change a bowl of pudding into a bowl of liquid oxygen, then take a hairdryer and use it to evaporate the liquid oxygen into its gaseous state. Why do you ask? I'm not sure if Funtimes should be able to simply create liquid oxygen. As Voidus said that would either mean that the matter is suddenly under a lot of preassure (adding power) or cooled down massively (removing power) which would be quite the boost to Funtimes abilities. Yes, she could technically turn some of the water into an oxygen tank and scuba gear. However, it's been established that Blackwave can use water as a very effective lethal weapon, so the safest thing for her to do in that situation would be to immediately turn the water into something Blackwave can't control. Talking about that, can't Blackwave also turn air into water or something like that? Good thing these posts took place in Astoria, then. Cannon Beach would've been the shortest and most depressing thread ever. We could draw it out by detailing the pillaging. I'm not sure the universe could handle that much awesome. (Harry's weakness is obviously death threats against his friends, and Dumbledore's is probably overly-convoluted plots. ) And thus, What Happened in England was born. Alright. So I'm expecting the column to be coated in diamond with a few minor additions? And some more ramshackle buildings scattered around nearby, to give the Epics in the area more places to work from? I wouldn't mind being given a rough idea how fortified it is. If Azrael wants to kick off his empire, he needs a good base of operations. Four-five minions should be plenty, especially when their powers are going to naturally support each other. All of the the sequels! There aren't any big gang wars in Astoria so the buildings around the pillar wouldn't be strongly fortified. The pillar itself might count as a giant evil column, however looking at it I don't think it's large enough to serve as a proper base. This could be cool. What Epic is it and do you want them to meet up, have him or her set up a contract with Lockvault? I think so too. By the standarts of the FSA Astoria is turning into somewhat of an Utopia and you monsters want to destroy it. All right. Commander Vondra has been ponified. Good job, very good job. Now we only need a Baxter Game pony. 1

The teacher mostly just rambled about cookie recipes.). That would definitely be a boost to her abilities, and outside her stated power set, so she wouldn't be able to do that. According to his profile, yet his intro post has his crew emptying barrels of water for him to use, onto an open-air battlefield where air conversion wouldn't suck up a ton of precious oxygen, so I'm not sure how that's going to play out. The FSA has some very odd standards for Utopias. We do, don't we? Edited February 16, 2015 by TwiLyghtSansSparkles

The FSA has some very odd standards for Utopias. We do, don't we? It's the same as turning water into ice, same material component but in a different state. Just even more extreme, Given that 0°C isn't even close to enough to make oxygen condense. Newcago counts as one and I don't think Astoria is significantly worse off. The Fractured States just kinda suck. Unless someone found that Draconis creator.

I don't see any scenarios where she'd need liquid oxygen, but it's good to know. Yeah, they kinda do. I wish.

Edgedancer he/him Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 I think the real question here is: Can we write a song as catchy as "Winter Wrap-Up?" Well, we can't incorporate actual music, so I'm sure we can pretend we did.

Dear Princess Celestia, Today I learned a magical lesson about friendship. When a bully punches you in the chest and threatens to murder you, a true friend will immediately jump to your aide by sealing said bully in a pit of tar. To my faithful student, I am pleased to hear that you are finally learning lessons about friendship. Jade is a wonderful pony, and I'm sure that you and she will become the best of friends if you only give her the chance. With that in mind, no. You can not come home yet.
