Can someone explain to me a few things about Firefight ending scenes?

1) How did Megan know where David is?

2) Where did she appear after she died?

3) How did she moved herself and David to a different house?

I thought that her power was to drag some elements of alternate universes into her universe. I get it how she made Prof's shield-bubbles reappear around him, since there probably was a universe where he placed those bubbles in different places. However, I thought that I worked like putting one bubble into different universe and pulling another one from there.

However, when she teleported David and herself to a house nearby, she did it permanently. It wasn't some temporary switch of some elements of universes, it was instant change of the current universe. How does this fit into her power portfolio?

Welcome to the forums! Here's my explanation for the events.

1. Due to the nature of her powers, she doesn't have to know where David is. I like to think of her powerset as part reality shifting as she explains, and part probability control. Her resurrection didn't necessarily have to be in the right spot right away, if she got it wrong, she just alters the universe so that she wound up on the same roof as David.

2. You're seeing her appear there on the roof after she died. That's her resurrection there on the roof. As I explain above, this isn't necessarily exact precision of her resurrection site, but rather her changing the area she's appearing at using her powers until she appeared on the roof with David.

3. She explains earlier in the book that her powers are most effective when she first resurrects, and as such, it's easier for her to alter things in a much grander fashion, which is how she is able to change the building they were standing on.

Ok, thanks for some explanation. I noticed her mentioning that her powers are much stronger after resurrection, but this teleportation bit looked like different power than just enchanced switching between universes. But well, maybe there is more to her power than I thought.

Well her "reincarnation" is actually shifting a version of herself who didn't die into reality. So she shifted in a version who was with David, naturally! After all the secret is really the power of love :P

Please excuse Firefight while she pukes. :P

The convenient detail about Epics with a power set that alters reality based on probability. You just have to know what you want, and it doesn't need to be terribly accurate.

Unlike Aons.

Firefight needs to figure out how to continuously sustain a reality shift where she is specified as "standing in enemy's blind spot". That will be fun.

Calamity: "You can't beat me because you'll never guess my weakness!"

Firefight: "I don't need to guess it, I just need to find the dimensional version of you whose weakness is being shot with a pistol."

*BANG*

Why not the dimensional double whose weakness is bad similes? Just have David talk to Calamity for a while and you're good.

That's probably been Calamity's weakness all along. What, did you think David really turned down Epic powers by conquering his fear? Please.

"Calamity shone over the rooftops like a giant, evil traffic light that had murdered the green and yellow lights so it could float in the sky all a....wait a sec, where'd he go? He just kind of...fell. I swear I heard something scream in pain--was that him?"

You are right that teleportation seems a different power for Megan. But I don't think it is surprising that she is exhibiting a hitherto unseen power; every really strong epic we have seen has at least two and in many cases three different powers; Prof has three different top-level epic powers! Of course, we don't know whether Megan's teleportation power manifests only right after she reincarnates (which seems to be a very good possibility, because there were numerous situations in both Steelheart and Firefight where teleporting away from extreme danger, if she could do it, would have been very handy), or whether she only just powered up as a result of conquering her fear and losing the rendering effect. We'll know better in the next book.
