RawToast225 he/him
Okay. The dumbest thing about Star Wars is that all the books are canon. All of the books. (Yes, I said stupidest. Even dumber than Jar Jar.) That is the equivalent of the judge of a pie contest saying "Every one wins because I don't want to eat pie." Those stupid, stupid people. Ugh, it makes me so mad that some people can be so lazy and still make so much money.
Sprouts
Actually I'm pretty sure everything, besides the films and the Clone Wars and Rebels TV shows, was recently re-categorized as Star Wars Legends. Basically they de-canonized everything from the books and games so that they can do what they want with the new films and not risk stepping on the EU. http://screenrant.com/star-wars-extended-universe-explained/
Observer
The canon of any large franchise that winds up in some way being a long-runner will invariably become a tangled continuity snarl of the hated and the loved. Fanon discontinuity and other such tropes are bound to apply. As such, can we please avoid tossing downvotes around so liberally? It was a little random and aggressive, but we've all felt like this about something's continuity one time or another.
Briar King
I loved my EU collection and was super bummed in a way when the new movies were announced cause I knew all the yrs and $ I put in were going to be reset. Now new books are coming out but I'm dead set on not buying any of them because in 25 yrs when Ep X-XII comes out they ll be rebranded Legends 2. I'm not going through that twice lol.
Quiver he/him
Eh, my on,y problem with the Star Wars canon was that it got so large, I had no idea where to start. Could I pick an era of books and just dive in? Or would I be missing important details? Of course, the time period I'm most interested in is the Clone Wars; I doubt Disney execs are going to start retconning battles and such out of the timeline, so that part is rather secure.
