Kobold King he/him Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I don't mind at all. Since all of Quota's posts from here on out will be dedicated to making no one at all mourn his passing, forming a trifecta of terror with Electro will be just the thing. Yay! (And boo.) But yay! Puppies! Also, I was thinking a bit more about Arendelle, and I came up with the following ideas. Elsa, tell me what you like and don't like, and everyone feel free to add your own ideas and change mine. These are just ideas. The first thing I thought of with Epic!Hans was to make him a low-level, high-range mind controller. In other words, if his power allowed him to lower the inhibitions of others, he could make them more susceptible to joining his sick little game. This, then, would lead him to choose one of the more powerful, yet less confident, Epics in Arendelle as his lover: Elsa. By lowering her inhibitions, he could make her more susceptible to his influence and keep her at his side. Perhaps combined with some fear of punishment, as well as the distractions Arendelle had to offer a powerful Epic, his powers could keep Elsa from running away or making a bid for power. Now for the setting. Arendelle would be what we now know as Disneyland California, transformed into a place where Epics took on the identities and personas of Disney heroes and villains. This would be like a sort of darker Renaissance Faire, where Epics chose a role and refused to break character. Vanillas would be forced into the lesser roles—the villagers in Beauty and the Beast, Mardi Gras parade members in The Princess and the Frog, other boys on Pleasure Island in Pinocchio. Their role would be to feed the Epics' delusions and never, ever break character. "Wait," you may be asking, "what about movies like The Little Mermaid, where all the bit parts are fish, or The Lion King where everyone is a lion or a zebra?" The way I see those roles being filled is by vanillas in those "movies" wearing animal skins matching their role (zebra, wildebeest, antelope, etc.) and speaking as little as possible. Epic!Mufasa, Epic!Scar, Epic!Sarabi, etc. would "hunt" those vanillas to maintain the "circle of life." How this would be accomplished (guns, bare hands, some combination of the two) depends on how far past the Moral Event Horizon we want those Epics to have gone. As for The Little Mermaid, one option would be to have Epic!Ariel with the ability to breathe underwater. Perhaps she has teamed up with Epic!Ursula, who can forcibly mutate vanillas to the point where they have gills and can function as well underwater as they can on land. Or perhaps Epic!Ariel is land-bound and simply spends as much time near the water as possible. Again, it depends on how much nightmare fuel Elsa wants in her character's backstory. Arendelle would be an exciting place to live. Epics would reenact various scenes from the movies they represented—the "Kill the Beast" scene and the storming the castle scene from Beauty and the Beast, the kingdom dance scene from Tangled, the ball from Cinderella. Vanillas would be forced to reenact those scenes along with their Epic masters and mistresses—though, with Epics, there would be far more casualties than were depicted in the original films. How would there be casualties at a ball? Well, they're Epics. They'll figure something out. Epic!Disneyland. The reason why Mobius chose north California to build her city. I think it'd be a little creepier if Hans and Arendelle were only a district within the larger Disneytopia, ruled by a small child who's proclaimed himself to be Mickey Mouse. "Mickey" was one of the younger children Calamity granted powers to, maybe only four or five. He essentially used his powers to force the world to adhere to his bizarre imagination; perhaps in addition to the inhibition-lowering, he can also cause people to lapse into extended shared hallucinations. The vanillas dressed as wildebeests and zebras and the like thus actually believe they're animals. Other inhabitants actually believe they're in a medieval fairy tale land. And Mickey himself sits in the middle of it all, giggling delightedly that the world's playing along with his games. XD I kinda forgot that not everyone knows. It'd make more sense from Sam's viewpoint though. Once I write up Altermind's next segment, do you want to have a short flashback with that stuff? Whoops. Pretend he was. That was just a brief list of some. I also didn't include Frozen, so maybe Flashpoint forgot to explain each of them. But there was a picture or at least a short power description written down. Yeah, it can be tricky navigating between the PM conversations and the Question threads. I'll write a short Sam flashback after Altermind's next post, then. 2
Lightsworn Panda he/him Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Well, my RP's finally up! My sincerest apologies yet again for taking so long to write it. I kind of rushed this RP, so feedback and pointed-out mistakes would be nice.

Either way, Disneyland is ruined. Sounds good. Well, my RP's finally up! My sincerest apologies yet again for taking so long to write it. Mailliw73 he/him Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Oh, and Electro may have checked out The Dark Knight for the movie place he worked at one too many times, if you get what I mean.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted January 5, 2015 Author Posted January 5, 2015 Oh, and Electro may have checked out The Dark Knight for the movie place he worked at one too many times, if you get what I mean. I did get a pretty strong Joker vibe from him. So what are the puppies' criteria for "sad and need help"? How do they determine a person's sadness—through sight, smell, something else? How sad must a person look—and how far will these puppies wander? Can they track a teleporter? Basically: what are the chances of a ball of indestructible cuteness scratching at Funtimes' cottage door as it tries to find Sam? 1

As they're dogs, they'll mainly listen for sounds that remind them of whimpering or looks like a sad puppy. But, since Chi is influencing them, they will be looking for his definition of sad and needs help. For sad, mainly someone who lost someone close to them recently. For needs help, it'll be someone being threatened or attacked, particularly by Epics. The cottage is probably too far away for the puppies to go. It is out of town right? But, maybe when they leave the Sadry's. If you come up with a reason for them to leave the normal way.
Voidus Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Epic!Disneyland sounds great, now let me retire to my VoidCave to plot out the powers of all possible Epic!Disney characters. 2
Mailliw73 he/him Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Epic!Disneyland sounds great, now let me retire to my VoidCave to plot out the powers of all possible Epic!Disney characters. Would a place like Universal Studios with superheroes be too stereotypical or creepy/cool?

Unless, of course, one of the puppies sees Sam as they're leaving the Sadrys', just before Funtimes teleports her away, and waits in safety until it can find Sam in the morning. (Am I the only one who thinks this would be both adorable and just what Sam needs?) Would a place like Universal Studios with superheroes be too stereotypical or creepy/cool? I think that'd be creepy in just the right way. Epics, surrounded by overly optimistic reminders of what the public wanted them to be…I think that's an awesome place for an Epic lair.

So, then, yeah, the puppies wouldn't go that far, but if Funtimes and co. leave the Sadry's by going into the street first, we can definitely have one find Sam then or track her in the morning. (Definitely not the only one.) It'd also be funny to see the "Spider-Man" actor become a web-slinging Epic. Funny, ironic and a bit cheesy at the same time. But then creepy too, since it'd be evil versions of all the heroes.

I can think of a few reasons why Funtimes wouldn't teleport straight to the museum in the morning, giving the puppy time to find Sam. What do they look like, by the way? Are their claws retractable or just small? Which breed to they bear the most resemblance to, or does that vary from puppy to puppy? It'd be even creepier if it were a huge fan of Spidey who got the powers, who then hunted down and kidnapped the Spiderman actor and the most popular comic book writer, and forced them to write and act The New Adventures of Spiderman, where Spidey acts more like…well, like Venom than like the Spiderman we know and love. 1

Then Sam can definitely find a puppy. Their claws, which are really talons, are retractable, yes. They don't look any different from the different trait mixing(eg speed and loyalty) though. The puppies still look like their original breed. So there'll be some Pomeranians, some pugs, some labs, etc. They're all a few months old, but will be smarter because of their connection with Chi.
Voidus Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Some quick ideas for characters:Scar: Can summon green bouts of flame, passively rots all food in his presence.Ursula: Can steal peoples voices.Gaston: Is just really really hated by everyone. 3
Mailliw73 he/him Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Some quick ideas for characters: Scar: Can summon green bouts of flame, passively rots all food in his presence. Ursula: Can steal peoples voices. Gaston: Is just really really hated by everyone. Gaston also has the power of believing that everyone loves him and that he is better looking than he really is. Sort of a self-induced hallucination. Mulan: Enhanced reflexes and ability to change her appearance. Pinocchio: Similar to Growthspurt's powers, but they apply only to living things. Sleeping Beauty: The ability to fall asleep at will. 2
Voidus Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 One rule though: I forbid anyone from making Bambi into an Epic or coming into contact with any Epics. Especially Nighthound. Nighthound is forbidden from being in the same state as Bambi. 2

Voidus Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Would a sentient deer created by The Panda be alright? Nope, insane, army leading, flying pig making Pandas are also forbidden.
Edgedancer he/him Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 (edited) I didn't forget him. Actually I was kind of hoping to include Lightwards' thoughts on him. But I didn't see his name on the list of Epics Flashpoint was describing to the Empire. You also didn´t mention Murphy. Sounds good. The only thing I see is, where did all of these hundreds of animals hide? And if he had so many, why wait? I have to agree with this part an army that large would draft attention from everywhere they passed by, not only the Dalles and the Panda made himself a sniping target, which is pretty much a death sentence with all the firepower that gathered there in the last couple of posts. Epic!Disneyland sounds great, now let me retire to my VoidCave to plot out the powers of all possible Epic!Disney characters. Maybe try Kindom Hearts as a cross-reference. Just think about all the horror, before we know Spiderman will make a deal with the devil... oh wait, that already happened! One rule though: I forbid anyone from making Bambi into an Epic or coming into contact with any Epics. Especially Nighthound. Nighthound is forbidden from being in the same state as Bambi. Poor little Bambi really shouldn´t have to suffer Nighthound. Edited January 5, 2015 by Edgedancer 2

Edgedancer he/him Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Long enough to sell your marriage to the devil, you mean? Well, would you deal with the devil if you could Firefight early? (and then only sit there with it in silence instead of actually reading it. That was horrible. ) 1
mail-mi he/him Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Is everybody thinking what I'm thinking? Epic!Disneyland and Epic!Universal Studios having a major rivalry? 2

You'd think a superhero would know that deal with devil=BAD. He didn't even try to beat him up while cracking witty one-liners!
