Edgedancer he/him Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 (edited) ...Do you need a hug? Someone to fill Nighthound's shoes? Whatever happened to burning the shoes and scattering the ashes through deep space? Gladly. For all it´s worth there probably won´t be someone just like Nighthound anytime soon. Of the existing characters I'd go with either Reader or CM. Lucentia's more whiney than creeptastic evil incarnate. Nah, Reader isn´t treatening enough and Corpsemaker actually has some "good boss" moments, like taking Murphy out for coffee. Timeport, maybe? Edited January 3, 2015 by Edgedancer

Voidus Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Nah, Reader isn´t treatening enough and Corpsemaker actually has some "good boss" moments, like taking Murphy out for coffee. Timeport, maybe? But those moments are contrasted by moments like murdering an ally out of no where just to prove a point. 1

To be fair, Scorch kind of earned it by being a moron. Not that CorpseMaker was in the right for murder...but I can see where he's coming from. 2
Kobold King he/him Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Thanks for the words and sympathy, everyone. Upvotes all 'round. Hey, what if we did a Google Hangout some time? That would be cool, but kind of difficult for me at least--my house tends to be a very noisy place, and I have neither a webcam or a method of easily obtaining a webcam. ...Do you need a hug?Someone to fill Nighthound's shoes? Not that CorpseMaker was in the right for murder...but I can see where he's coming from. He was kind of like Backtrack, just without being inherently amusming when watching his suffering. What about the deep space aliens? Think of the deep space alien children! Hmm, you're right. And the ocean is out of the question, since it's already polluted enough….I suppose the only option is to open a portal directly to Hell and send the ashes there. Thanks. Funtimes/Nathan (matter manipulator/can't throw a punch) Voidgaze/Big Al (can cause explosions with a glance/can summon Sausage McMuffins from thin air) Shiny Sparkle/Autumn (can create sparkly explosions/good shot but no powers) Is there anyone I'm missing? (I'm not counting Red/Nighthound or Nighthound/Ray because those are more creepfests than actual pairings. ) 2
Curiosity he/him Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 That last few Quota/Timeport posts have made me wonder if we have some psychotics in here... And I ironically really liked Mr. Meh. And I ironically really liked Mr. Meh. What about Saccharine/Pheonix? I'd say they're pretty much on par with each other. Every post in this little escapade has been to drum up anticipation for Quota and Timeport's eventual demises. That's what I keep telling myself. Mister Meh says he doesn't care….but he actually appreciates having a fan. Oh, right. They're about equal so far as powers go, but Saccharine is more mentally stable (ironically enough). 2
Kobold King he/him Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Backtrack/MV ... kindof 'Cuz it's not like MV likes him or anything. Möbius is far more powerful than Koschei. Granted they never actually met, but they're kind of our non-canon OTP. 1
Voidus Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Granted they never actually met Nor should they. Ever. 1

Edgedancer he/him Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 (edited) Oh, right. They're about equal so far as powers go, but Saccharine is more mentally stable (ironically enough). The P can resurect though, so that gives him the advantage. Still, 4 to 1 (counting MV/Backtrack) is pretty one sided ratio. Plus, we kind of have an LGBT Epic now, she even has the rainbow, which was completely unintended on my part. Not a bad cut I would say. 'Cuz it's not like MV likes him or anything. See even 5:1 if we count fanon and 6:1 if we count the backstory thing with Bloody Mary and Nighthound, which I´m hesistant to do because you know Nighthound. Edited January 3, 2015 by Edgedancer 1

Plus, we kind of have an LGBT Epic now, she even has the rainbow, which was completely unintended on my part. Not a bad cut I would say. Saccharine's a fair bit smarter than P is though, particularly with her abilities. In terms of danger levels I'd put them about on par, Saccharine's more fragile but also more strategic so I think it more or less balances. Plus the whole increasingly unstable mentality thing with his resurrections.

Nothing involving Nighthound can be called a "pairing." "Pairing" implies there is some sort of chance for something vaguely romantic to happen. And yes, I realize that the Funtimes/Nathan pairing began when she sort of rescued/sort of kidnapped him. And I know the Shiny Sparkle/Autumn pairing only exists because Shiny Sparkle can explode Autumn's head if Autumn turns down a date. Still more romantic than Nighthound/anyone. 1
Voidus Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Oh and there was a bit of a Mommy/Sidestep relationship budding potentially if they both survive the night.

Well... depending on your tolerance for Squick and Interplay of Sex and Violence someting vaguely romantic might actually be possible... kinda. At least those have a chance of turning into a healthy relationship.

The only chance Nighthound/Ray or Nighthound/Red have at turning into a healthy relationship lie in four little words: "And then Nighthound died." 1

Yeah, Nighthound is essentially an atrocety in semi-human form. 1

Edgedancer he/him Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 A crime against humanity with feet? And a face, which is the worst part. 2
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted January 3, 2015 Author Posted January 3, 2015 Also, because this is a bit overdue…. And Then They Died Revised and Updated Criteria: To be placed on this list, an Epic must exhibit not only callousness, but a longstanding commitment to atrocities. The Epic in Question must be not only consistently portrayed as ruthless, but as enjoying their ruthlessness. Said Epic must glory in things decent societies deem reprehensible, including (but by no means limited to): torture, murder, sexual harassment, psychological manipulation (including subjecting a family member to reprehensible acts in order to gain control of someone), stalking, etc. Epics on this list must have demonstrably crossed the Moral Event Horizon, preferably with an evil laugh and/or creepy remark as they plummeted into the abyss. Members: Oregon Chapter Nighthound Lightwards Electro Nighthound CorpseMaker Lucentia Nighthound Koschei Quota Nighthound Bloody Mary Neverthere Nighthound Blackwave Nighthound Miner Ironmonger Nighthound Timeport I'm considering adding Timeport as a repeat offender, though I'm not quite sure yet. He'll probably make the list twice by the time his next post is added. 1

We began with Altermind, who as evil dictators go isn't that bad, and CorpseMaker, who at the time wasn't much worse than the average mob boss. Then Nighthound came, slaughtering a whole crowd of people on his first appearance. But Nighthound was an anomaly at first. One deranged maniac in a sea of relatively normal evils. Lightwards killed more people in his first appearances than most others (besides Nighthound), but he only killed about a dozen people for solely pragmatic reasons. Terrible, yes, but nothing like the rampant sadism that plagues Oregon today. Nighthound/Red fatalities are on the rise. Electro is destroying entire city blocks. Quota and Timeport are freely rampaging across the city and murdering everyone in their path. Quicksilver took out an entire fort in The Dalles. In short, we need Remington Springfield to quit fooling around and starting shooting. 2

I'm tempted to plead the fifth with Quota's next post, because Quota trying to impress Timeport isn't going to lower the bar for irredeemably evil. Then again, mail-mi didn't plead the fifth when Timeport did what he did (either time) so it looks like I'll have to write it. But yes, Remington does need to start shooting. Just as soon as he learns the weaknesses of every Epic who can't die, their immortality will encounter an unexpected error. (Still, though, I'm seriously tempted to just write about Sweetfrost and Icecreaminator eating ice cream all night. This….isn't going to be pretty.) Edited January 3, 2015 by TwiLyghtSansSparkles 1
