Lesser spren Posted Saturday at 10:13 PM Posted Saturday at 10:13 PM (edited) An "individual" sleepless is made of hundreds of Hordlings, whose can colony can span far beyond what you could normally see. So if a colony got big enough could the the entire grand apparatus be controlled by a colony that shared a single Identity? hording knowledge and breeding for hordlings that could mimic a super computer? Mystic He/Him Posted Saturday at 10:54 PM Posted Saturday at 10:54 PM Probably? I don’t believe we know enough about how Sleepless split to answer that. I want to say no simply because having sleepless able to just be on an entire city/planet is hard to balance. That said, most sleepless we know of are trying to blend into human society in some capacity, so we don’t know what it’s like when a sleepless decides to forgo that.
Ascended Grubberfly He/Him Posted Saturday at 11:09 PM Posted Saturday at 11:09 PM I believe it was suggested that the Sleepless took control of the Apparatus at some point, but it was not in their control originally.

I meant to title it "Controlled" by one sleepless, sorry about that.

There's a limit to the total mass and number of Hordlings a Sleepless can control at a time. Spoiler https://wob.coppermind.net/events/373-skyward-chicago-signing/#e12043 ILuvHats I have a question about the Sleepless. So you have confirmed that distance does matter. Is there a limit or a factor affecting how many hordelings they control? Brandon Sanderson Yes. ILuvHats Can you elaborate? Brandon Sanderson No, but there is an upper limit on both mass and number. I think if a Sleepless tried to take over a planet-spanning structure they'd begin splitting into new, separate hordes. It's a really cool idea though. Edited Sunday at 11:59 AM by Trusk'our 1

I don't want this to be true though I want a horde to have just focussed on becoming the largest horde in the whole Cosmere.
