England hasn't taxed your tea in close to three centuries, how are you still upset about that?

B'sides, that's like, one of the least horrible things they were doing around that time.

Honestly, I don't think we are upset, but we mention it constantly

Weird. I mean, waste of tea, but I understand the symbolism of the protest, even if inventing an entirely new country over a bit of taxation seems like an overreaction to me. Although still constantly talking about it is kinda strange.

People are strange though, so it does kinda make sense.

I mean. We(Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints)don’t drink tea, so like, I don’t care. Tax it through the roof. Doesn’t effect me*

*yes, I know that’s not how economics works

It's not about the money Batman...

Its about sending, a message...

But in all seriousness I don't know how big the taxes were but there were a lot of them on a lot of common things. Plus why pay money to a country that you have no influence on and can't ensure fair treatment? Why pay the soldiers that are in your house and eating your food because they need you to pay taxes?

Although I am pretty sure Elon only achieved trillionair status through a money glitch that was patched right after.

Ah, Economics in world building.

I've totally figured that out for my story *awkward laughter*

I mean I have in part, but there's still a lot I need to figure out.

get someone who does economics to do it for you.

btw it's so much more painful when you're dealing with a single civilization-spanning state for all of humanity set around 500 years into the future. and where people live to like 140 and stay young till about 80. what makes it easier and harder is that humanity has like 4 systems settled. and like 7 planets/moons that are inhabited and produce stuff.

*painful noises*

my suffering knows no end

I also do not know anyone in economics
