Mainly naming dystopian

have read Arc of a Scythe? Or the Unwind series? Neal Shusterman writes some pretty dark stuff, but absolutely excellent

Game Changer and Challenger Deep are also masterpieces of their own

Arc of a Scythe will desensitize you, its about a utopian society where AI becomes God and saves humanity except for population control so he lets the humans do that and hey decide to have a group of people called Scythes kill people at random

Unwind is a bizzare four book series about how america solved the abortion debate by… banning it and allowing teenagers to be deconstructed into base components and harvested for organ transplants? Bro was high on something writing this but it’s philosophically rich

Game Changer is a book about a football player who can change reality and uses it to be trans (accidentally) (this is an incorrect summary but very weird very cool standalone book)

Challenger Deep is a really unsettling book about mental health problems, very hard to understand but easily the best book here

Scythe is an incredible book (didn't like the sequels). I read it at a young age, and it's targeted towards teens, I'd say. It does deal with death, but not in a way that a lot of other books do (there's basically no violence in the entire book).

1984 has NSFW scenes, I believe. Be cautious.

Fahrenheit 451 is good but it sure has aged a bit and it's not really a "book" moreso a "story"

I liked the whole series

the worldbuilding is kind of awesome

1984 doesn’t quite go all the way, does it? Been a while, it certainly gets close

explain, i have to read that soon

I seem to recall one of my friends mentioning that it has intimate scenes in it.

The entire thing is only 3 chapters and like 150 pages. and it was written on a library typewriter, 10 cents at a time.

Ray Bradbury is mostly known for short stories though, so this makes sense.

still a classic. I kinda didn't like the ending of f451 but worth reading nonetheless

Hmmm

spoilers + mature content

Spoiler

I remember there was a scene where someone was naked, shall we stay tried to start something, and the main character internally expressed desire then shut himself down

i don’t remember any full explicit scenes though i might be wrong
