i use it beca Discord has a stigma and because my other friend group uses it and because people on discord often really suck

Discord has always been my go-to because I have used it successfully for years now to arrange things and to communicate. To say that discord isn't worth using because you have a stereotype of the platform is kinda offensive, being honest.

Okay the real reason is my storming parents 

I used to (and still have) a discord account

they just believe its evil and nuked it from orbit, i can’t access it at all.

Well DND is meant to be played when everyone is in the same room, without all the complications that come with a forum. For best experience, I would def recomend a voice chat
