ChipsAHoid He/Him Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Ralorin ran. He ran through the night with everything he had left. The beast that had slain two of his comrades followed, close behind. Armor rent and shield disfigured, he had no choice but to run, shattered sword useless in hand. He stumbled, wounded side slowing him, and the creature closed the gap by a few feet, swiping its nearest leg at him. He glanced ahead and spotted a clearing up ahead. There he would make his last stand. Better to die in glory than die running like a coward. Then he entered the clearing, and the night faded away. Where was he? He turned to face the beast, but found that it had vanished. He took stock of the situation. It seemed… peaceful almost. Perhaps he could treat his wounds here, and perhaps find a way to end the terror plaguing his people. Well, maybe fight wasn’t such a good word considering how poor of one he put up against such a powerful foe. “A Tormentor. Other two of us are dead. I should be too, honestly. Came here to die fighting instead of being run down. Where am I? Can’t be where I just was. Trees here aren’t dead, and the sun is up. And above all there don’t seem to be Tormentors here. Seems like quite a few steps up from Relth if you ask me.” Edited January 24 by ChipsAHoid Accidentally came up with a name that Sanderson already came up with. *sigh* 1

That would make sense. What world is this, then?” Ralorin processed further, and realized something. Right before he cut himself off. “Your what exactly?” He said sharply, adding weight to his second word, calculated. If this man was with Tormentor affiliated, he may have to run before they sold him out. After all, he thought, eyes scanning for the nearest escape if he was forced to flee, Tormentors were hardly local to Relth. Many a world had already fallen to the Roaming Packs and their creatures. If need be, he wouldn’t hesitate to see more than just that cut off from the man. Then again, perhaps it would be best to hear him out first. He was in no shape to fight, both from wounds and lack of gear. Quote I think you shouldn’t hate on good books even if the writer is a terrible person Also I say fair reference, similar idea For instance Woodrow Wilson fought the Germans in WWI, and that’s a good thing He also let the KKK restart, a horrible thing I can dislike the guy and he can still have done at least some good things Similarly, the HP books are good and the author is really really not Or Dr Seuss was really racist but later wrote some good stuff People are complicated Edited January 24 by ChipsAHoid

Some aren’t the…kindest when it comes to the treatment of mortals. Though it can’t be. Us of Kaos take on a human-esque appearance when entering realities.” He pauses, staring down the man, clearly weary. ”As for where we are, outside of reality. Some place where the things tormenting us and our worlds cannot reach.” Quote Fair point. I just prefer to distance from things surrounding the author. The HP books were the foundation of my reading journey and I wouldn’t read what/how I do without them. Edited January 24 by Rynturning_Light

KaladinsSenseOfHumourSpren He/Him Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Quote ATTENTION Here's some aliens, it'd be hard for a character to miss them Hundreds of objects appeared to rip through the sky, bearing trails of white-hot plasma. The sonic boom that followed after their appearance would leave most people in the Clearing with ringing ears. The alien starships landed gracefully on the ground, the exteriors made from a perfectly reflective material far beyond human technology. The ships ranged from a few hundred metres to kilometres in size. A hatch opened on one of the ships, and from it a drone, of human design, emerged. From the same ship, a human-sized door opened, and two humans walked out. @NameIess
