If someone could find the exact quote, that would be appreciated. It may not have even been in Wax & Wayne, but one of the Secret Projects. But it was something along the lines of "travel to Roshar is too dangerous" or "travel to Roshar is...not ideal" or "with all that's going on on Roshar at the moment, ..." I think it was in TLM, but I could be mistaken. I just remember taking note of it while reading, and I think I wondered if that meant that Odium won the Contest of Champions. Then, I read Wind and Truth, and yeah. I also was using timelines I found online (which I now believe are NOT fully accurate, specifically with the SPs, since unless my "math" is wrong, the following one is saying that Sunlit took place like 5,000 years after Stormlight, which, while I was reading Sunlit, did not make sense at all)

Spoiler

Emberdark+All] Quick reference Cosmere timeline - critiques encouraged! Emberdark + All Cosmere spoilers : r/Cosmere

If this timeline was posted after WaT, the "giveaway" may be less, but anyway: I saw ~10 year gap between SA and MB2, and when I saw the aforementioned "quotes," I wondered why that was (WaT spoilers: it now makes sense with the time dilation and Retribution winning/"winning")

But, point is, did anyone else catch this? Can someone find the quote? Did this actually give away or hint at the ending?

TLM:

Spoiler

Ch 39:

Quote

“Moonlight,” the woman said after a glance. “You have to read this. Travel to Bjendal has been completely upset. That’s four primary systems we can’t visit without extreme danger, if you count Roshar.

Epilogue 1:

Spoiler

Dlavil held his tongue, his eyes inscrutable behind that cursed mask. TwinSoul hated being unable to get a full read on the man’s expressions, but Dlavil—like his sister who ran amok on Roshar—wore a mask that he never removed; it was grown in to the point that it was practically part of his skin.

SPs:

Spoiler

Tress: no mention of Roshar

Yumi: Mentions of Roshar do not have to do with travel

Sunlit Man - Ch 44:

Quote

“Very well,” the man said, continuing in the local tongue. He had tan skin and was tall for a Scadrian, even an inch or so taller than Zellion. “Rosharan, have you said the oaths?”

“No,” Zellion lied. “I’m a free man. I’ve got no part in the conflicts. Just want to keep my head down and stay alive.”

“Can you fight?”

“I have a Blade.”

Only the refercnce to conflict, not travel.

I don't think I would call it a spoiler - there's no detail. I would say it is certainly foreshadowing, and likely intended by Brandon to imply uncertaintly in Roshar's future.

Hope that helps.

Yeah, seems like it.

I think that was the quote, thank you.

What do you use to find words in the books? Was it you or someone else who mentioned "calibre"? Personally, I just use Google Books, since I own the physical books, not e-books.

I know I have mentioned Calibre - but there may have been others as well. Calibre is great because of the flexibility in how you can search (keyword/phrase; words near each other in any order (set a character count for how close); RegEx searches and wildcards, etc.).

I do also have all of the physical books (and some special editions) but it is totally worth it, to me, to have the ePub for each book as well - since I also make personal edits

I took a quick look, and you mentioned the Elantris Deleted Scene. I saw it in my copy of the book, and ended up skipping it. Would you recommend reading it? Is it necessary?

Edit: also, White Sand. I got the prose draft from the newsletter, but only read a chapter or two (after what was already in AU). Would you recommend reading White Sand? I don't have the graphic novel versions, but I could probably get them (though they seem harder to find). I was going to wait for the new prose novel, but that may be a wait.

That sounds really useful. Would I need to purchase the e-books as well (I assume so)?

There is a lot of supplementary material for Elantris. I recommend the Annotations for anybody who likes books' behind-the-scenes. The Glossary is interesting in that you can learn some things that did not make it into the novel itself. The language and pronunciation essays are interesting if you enjoy linguistics. The best essay is probably "Form and the Fantastic" where Brandon did a college level analysis of his own writing. The Deleted scenes were not bad, but not compelling unless you want insight into the origins of Tarachin on Warbreaker (loosely based on these deleted scenes with the Mad Prince).
There is a reason I titled by ePub "Elantris (Complete Edition)" - because I added all of this contect to my ePub so I could read it offline.

I love White Sand - and made a primer (What are all those White Sand versions?) so people could make an informed decision on how they want to experience the story.

To me, the Omnibus is totally worth it - as long as you don't mind Graphic Novel format (and still may be worth it just to have the visual Ars Arcanum); while the original three-volume graphic novel is too expensive and has too many errors to be worth the cost for me (I read them, but gave them away when the Omnibus was announced). The only version I have not "read" is the Graphic Audio (because I do not enjoy audiobooks).

I get mine on sale or as part of a bundle (like Omnibus of Mistborn Era 1 has all three books and often has sales - or my kickstarter Secret Projects all came with both the physical and ePub editions).

I do, thank you. I'll check those out.

Thanks for the advice!

Form and the Fantastic - copy/paste error, fixed. Also, if you go to his website in the books sections, the links are there for each book (the annotations' links are slightly broken - just take a few extra clicks to get to the start of annotations for each book):

I borrowed the graphic novel from my local library. The only Cosmere book I don't own.
