Signing up as Weaver, a young cult figure in the Undercity

Age: 19

Backstory:

Weaver’s backstory is shrouded in mystery. The Undercity circulates with rumors and lies. This is the truth:

William Furthington was the third child of a small noble family up Topside. He was destined for a comfortable life of mediocrity, spending his years in a safe boredom.

14 years ago, William Furthington went missing. He was kidnapped by a small-time Undercity Crime Lord with a vendetta against the Furthingtons, with the intent of ransom. An investigation was launched, and eventually, the gang that took William was found and slaughtered. William was never found, and was presumed dead.

He survived. Five year old him had run from the gunshots and hidden in the slums of the Undercity.

Over the next 14 years, William traded master for master. After a few torturous months, he was found by Everton, a powerful yet benevolent Crime Lord who took in several serving boys who ran his errands. Everton was murdered by rivals.

William - going by Will - served in a bar for a while, counting checks. The bar burned down.

So Will grew up. After a while, he gained renown for his brain. He served as scribe, accountant, analyst. Sometimes, he would get paid. If he was lucky. At night, he would dream of Topside at first. But the people that surrounded him would never allow him to escape, and he ceased to dream.

Eventually, Will ended up working for a Crime Lord dealing in dangerous Vextech. One day, something at the factories went wrong, and a massive Vextech explosion blew it all to smithereens. More than a hundred died. Corpses and red smoke littered the horizon. And, at the center of it all, in a sea of wreckage, a single man lay untouched. The accident had left him with a glowing red scar resembling a spiderweb over his left eye - an eye that glowed with the embers of flames. That night, Weaver was born.

When the man awoke, he was surrounded by a shocked crowd. And filled with a vision.

That was two months ago. Since then, the figure known as Weaver has grown a cult following, carving out a space for himself in the Undercity and challenging the regimes of the Crime Lords. And he has made ripples up Topside by claiming to be the lost Furthington heir after the death of the Lord and his two eldest in an aircraft accident. His followers believe him to be touched by the Divine, a fallen angel or Christ-like figure. They miss what he truly is.

Just a man, walking a tightrope. Not ready to fall.

Right sorry, umm... good I guess, I might ask for some backstory changes later

do I have to make a character sheet?

I mean, I don't wanna sound whiny, but I already have broad strokes of a character, but I don't like laying everything out about my character in something that small

besides the main concept, my best rps and the ones I stick around for are the ones where I'm allowed to discovery-write my character, cuz thats what keeps the rp interesting for me and I can adapt ideas to best fit the story

Ooh. Sure.

Would something like this work?
Cora is 11-13 somewhere in there. Her mom was forced into the same line of work as A. Lias though at an older age. The first time she concieved she was forced to miscarry and it nearly killed her, both because of the physical and the mental effect. So the second time she ran away. She convinced herself that her baby was the key to a new life. She gave birth to a baby girl, Cora, and they lived in hiding for years. But around when Cora was 5 her mom was found by the people she worked for before and killed. Cora was briefly taken in by someone who taught her the basics of what she would need to survive and then left her to fend for herself. Since then she's been mostly on her own only interacting with others when she needs to in order to survive.

Yeah, what's her profession? Is she a beggar, or does she do something else?

Maybe like a message/supply runner. She wouldn’t necessarily work for any one group but only because she was involved with the right people the first time and so she’s know as someone who can be trusted just enough for the tasks they give her? If that makes sense?

Lias would be absolutely so protective of her

She’d be super close to hating herself for it but she would be

Oh that could be fun

A messenger? Okay, that could work.

Hm, interesting. Is there any type of character you would like to see in this?

Well, a character who is a smuggler or who works in organized crime would probably be helpful, though you can play anyone you want.

Okay, here's what I have: Kole, a 21 year old born and raised in the undercity who dreams of escape. He suffered a traumatic brain injury as a young child from a beating that affected his ability to process sound, among other things, rendering him effectively deaf. When he could no longer survive off of pity and petty theft, he joined a criminal organization, convincing them that he could use his reputation as an invalid to avoid suspicion, conducting everything from light espionage to assassinations. He plays up his injury in public, pretending a degree of madness.
