How Did This Happen?

I was looking through a new member's page, and I noticed that it says they posted before they joined. This is probably the most trivial question I could have asked, but for some reason I couldn't stop wondering why this happened.

Usually I notice this right before they join, so I think it's them typing up the post and then creating an account to post it

I don't quite understand this either; I have noticed this on another account, too.

Maybe not, but it seems to occur an awful lot on new accounts (and maybe on older ones, but their whole status doesn't go back that far I don't think)

That was me, and I did indeed type up the post, then create an account in order to post it, in that order. I hope that clarifies things!

Aha, there was a new setting snuck in that I was unaware of... 

Honestly, I turned it off, but I may turn it back on for now. Kind of weird. I can see how it encourages people to post, though.
