Isles of the Emberdark was released from Brandon Sanderson's Dragonsteel Entertainment on July 1st. According to the spoiler policy, around January 1st the spoiler would be released. However, for some readers (those who get their books mainly through Tor or the Library) this will have happened only 1 month after the book was released to them, many not having finished or even picked up the book yet. Contrary to WaT, which was in the library and Tor soon after it's release, this will be different.

So, this brings me to my main question. Will the IotE spoiler board extend 6 month after the Tor realease? or 6 months after the Dragonsteel release?

Sorry if this has happened before and I am just being repetitive. I would geniunly like to know, because many of my shardbuddies are primarilly library sanderson readers.

I'm not a mod, so I'm not 100% sure, but this is what I remmeber:

It's the way the secret projects work. Sunlit man was released on October 1st, then had the commercial release in march. If I remmeber right, the spoiler period ended after 6 month from October, not March.

Tis unfortunate, but how the cookie crumbles. Otherwise you end up with a year long spoiler period, and at the rate Brandon writes books, we'll never leave.

More precisely, the Secret Project policy can be found here. But those were a different situation because the commercial release was only three months after the Backer release. I believe the timing for SP5 is significantly longer, so the Admins are probably dicussing this already. Just in case, I've reported the question so it gets noticed.
