I think usually when you have successfully taken steps that allow you to follow that oath without breaking it, but can still use the oath as a motivation/guideline for continuing and improving. There are oaths I would like to follow, but know I cannot live up to and so have not yet sworn. I swore my last oath when I had proven to myself I could do it, but had not been quite able to uphold it with consistency. Ultimately, do whatever you think would help you improve the most.

Thank you! I will work on it! I'm trying to get to a point where I can swear the 2nd Edgedancer Ideal, but I don't think I'm there yet
