I have spoken my 6th truth.

It is not yet full, but I have acknowledged a part of me, and will complete the truth with another at another time.

So... you're still 5th Ideal for now?

Congratulations anyway!

no. My 6th Truth acknowledged that I would have to push off the truth until I was better prepared.

I just want to put a really cool analogy for Radiance and Unoathed here

Spoiler

Imagine your personality as a building.

Radiance: Building on magical parts of the building that when broken, will break all the magic parts and can only be added in specific shapes that can interfere with other parts of the building.

Lightweaving: unearthing and discovering parts of the building that were not previously known.

Unoathed: just normally building the building. If it breaks, you try again without consequences.

The analogy is correct but like... huh. That's an interesting view on Radiance.

It’s one way to view it. It isn’t the only way, but I do view radiance as quite restrictive.

”if you don’t follow this moral code, it will be like murdering someone you are good friends with”

You're not wrong. That's my only issue with Radiance is that it's a hard-and-fast thing, and literally everybody slips sometimes

That's actually the thing I like about Radiance, is it kind of forces you to confront your failings and progress beyond them, which many people would never do otherwise. And yeah, it does have a lot of pressure to live up to the Oaths, which can be really hard on some people, but others can handle it. That's why I particularly like how the Skybreakers did it, which does not put risk to the spren.

That's true. There are also a lot of issues with the Oaths themselves though, like we see in Oathbringer

Yeah. I think that's the same thing the Unoathed thought.

But it doesn't force you to confront your failings. If you fail, no matter how small, it is an instant

"Oh boy you just murdered your best friend! Good luck with living with yourself after that!"

The Skybreakers did it well. I agree. (But failure is still quick and swift. It just doesn't kill anything. And you also still lose everything you invested into radiance)

But, well, it can be mendable...

Kaladin almost lost his Radiance at some point.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.

I have sworn the second ideal of the Lightweavers, although I am not sure which orders I will join. I also already know what my "crusade" will be, though I won't be able to do it for a while.
