how many times has one cosmere book referenced another? I have a few examples, but id like to know if you all have any more I’ve forgotten or missed

In YatNP, towards the end of the book when Yumi was wandering in the shroud, Hoid remarked that “she didn’t even need tin to do it”, (or something like that) a reference to A-tin and the mists

in WaT, Hoid references vin and her actions towards the very end of tWOA (can’t give context cause of spoilers but iykyk)

Again in YatNP, Hoid says that Hikaro looks Veden, a reference to Roshar

In the mistborn era 1 ars acranum, Khriss references selish and Rosharan magics, that being comparing how the metallic arts are instinctive, unlike rosharan invested arts, and how the metallic arts aren’t based on forms like those on sel.

Hoid references Adonalsium when talking to Dalinar in WoK

Nomad makes a whole bunch of references to other planets in tSM, but i remember him mentioning how he went to threnody to the locals, he also referenced dragons when thinking about the greater good, and he also referenced bridge 4 a whole lot

in a interlude in WoR, Hoid pours something into his own drink, referencing Scadrial and the metallic arts (i know this one is kind of a stretch)

in WaT, Hoid references Yolen in a story told to Dalinar (again, no context cause of spoilers)

while i don’t remember the context exactly, some time towards the end of RoW, Hoid references Sazed and his philosophy, calling him one of the wisest men he’s ever known

and while not a cosmere reference, Hoid alias  ode “midius” might be a reference the king midus?

Part of this answer is how you prefer to learn or process information (most of these references also have more information and tips in the Sharder FAQ).
Some examples:

  • Use the Coppermind to read Articles on specific areas of interest (since the Coppermind will reference relevant Words of Brandon (WoB) and other sources)
    • Be sure to turn on the Time Machine if you need to set the article dates to a point before a book you have not read (such as before TLM or WaT)
  • Use the Arcanum to read Words of Brandon, since you can use Tags to read all WoBs with a specific Tag (and fall down the rabbit-hole of linking from one set of tags to another)
    • This is how I started down learning as much as possible a number of years ago - back when WoR was new and I realised Zahel = Vasher. I read every #Vasher tagged WoB, which led to all #Nightblood tags, which led to . . . you get the point.
  • Use the Github (Discussed in this thread) and/or Roshar Interactive Map (Visual Learners)
    • They take some practice, but can be a great tool for putting things together. There are a lot of features and filters to turn off and on
  • Just read here in the forums. The Search for the forums is very robust. So if you want , for example, to explore what others have said about Bond Theory you can do something like:
    • Search for Nahel Luhel Bond, set the "use all terms" and limit the search to Cosmere Q&A and Cosmere Discussion (knowing which forum will have which kind of threads is necessary to really make this work - see below) and read through some of the threads that are found.

Also the Interactive Roshar map (also available from the main bar above, under "more") will let you examine things from teh books, as plotted on the map, by timeline.

Also, please see AonEne's Locations for Internet Content such as the Jasnah Deleted Scene from Words of Radiance and other free web sources.

Hope that helps
