OverlordBob999 Posted February 13, 2025 Posted February 13, 2025 Axies the Collector mentions his curse, the Curse of Kind, in a very vague manner, but the Coppermind states both that it is tied to Fortune and that it is similar to the Torment caused by holding the Exist Dawnshard. My theory is that the Curse of Kind was caused by the holding of the Change Dawnshard. There have been a lot of theories popping up about the characterizations of the Dawnshards, and one of the more common ones has been that each of the four are related to Identity, Fortune, Connection, and Investiture, respectively. With the Exist Dawnshard rendering one unable to negatively affect or benefit from another's existence, I think it makes sense that the Change Dawnshard would negatively affect one's luck, or Fortune. Also, the fact that Axies is an Aimian, and this Dawnshard was found in Aimia, makes this theory more plausible in my mind. 1

Brandon Sanderson The Curse of Kind is slightly different, but analogous to a Torment from a Dawnshard. He did not hold a Dawnshard. But something similar is happening.
