”The Essences are different as well. A more… primal form. How they were before Madness integrated them into the Archstone. It’s different for emotions, as those are handled differently in the Fear’s Archstone - each person getting their own Thread, emotion being a part of that.”

She glared a little longer and just slightly twisted his emotions. Enough to be noticed and slightly painful but not enough to kill him.
