Above them was a small opening in the rock that they hadn't noticed before. It would be far better for hiding then the crevice they were climbing up.

As she descends, she catches a glimpse of a monster.

It was the vague shape of a wolf, but its skin was interrupted, seemingly randomly, by patches of metal. Malformed wings sprouted from the back, and for every patch of metal, there was a patch of flesh, the skin torn and oozing a thick, bright green acid that partially turned to fumes in the air. The smell was completely acrid.

The worst, however, was the face. One eye was replaced by a glowing, red machine, the other gashed out and  bleeding the same acid. The mouth had scars stretching it all the way to the sides, making it seem to grin grimly through flesh peeled away by corrosion. The monster drooled the acid in a foamy form.

It didn’t seem to have seen you.

Kayd, being used to horrid sights, was mostly unfazed. She climbs across the ceiling silently bc she’s strong.
