@WhiteHairedDrifter

So I guess I should explain this:

All of yall start in a room with myraid ptahs laeding uot. I give a map in the begining, and you progress through the paths towards the end (powering up along the way), where you fight on eof the bosses.

(Slay the Spire inspired *chuckle*)

YEA!

Though admittedly, it will be difficult balancing it like how well Slay the Spire was balanced, so I'll have to navigate that.

OK!

Time to announce the very basic mechanics!

There is one between room stat: Hide (Your health)

You need to develop a tough hide to repel the criticisms of the Aoutocorrect

Stray Letters will also carry between rooms, but only act as a currency for shops.

There are a few types of rooms:

1: Essay

2: Research Paper

3: Algorithm Analysists

4: Web Surfing

5: College Application

  1. Essay: Basic combat. There are a few components to this: the Algorithm and the Players. The Algorithms either Spell Check or Secure each turn. They may buff themselves or debuff the character.
    1. Spell Check: This, unless properly blocked by the Elegance in Spelling (Armor) stat that can be put up by the Players' abilities.
    2. Secure: This makes sure that the Autocorrect is safe from direct assault using things like distance and or hired security.
    3. Elegance in Spelling: Blocks attacks
    4. Brute Force: Break the Algorithm by (thematically) breaking the computer and/or finding the offices and repositories of whomever created it.
    5. The ABILITY DECK! This starts with basic "Keyboard Strikes" and "Intuitions", the abilities that give Elegance in Spelling and Brute Force. However, these cards are bad. So, after each combat, you can improve your deck little by little.
  2.  Research Papers: Essays, but give better rewards.
  3. Algorithm Analysists: Shops. Spend Stray Letters earned at the end of combats to gain special rewards.
  4. Web Surfing: Random Event.
  5. COLLEGE APPLICATION! THE BOSS BATTLES, 3-4 IN TOTAL!

I have yet to decide how closely to adhere to Slay the Spire.

Interesting. I have neither time for this nor context, but I think I’ll join anyway.

Cool.

I might do a schedule forgiving format, where there are some two to four PoV characters, but y'all decide together what those characters do.

Anyways, I started a blog and added my first custom ability. I'll need to flesh it out, but the basic premise is that it is a (initially) weak card, easy to play, but every time you play it, it gets stronger, and adds a second copy of itself in your discard pile. It is a mix of two cards.

Okay.

Explain it real simple for me. Sorry about the perfect grammar, it's a thing.

Which is it?

The basic mechanic of the game will be as such:

You progress through multiple nodes on a map (dungeon-crawler style), powering up and fighting monstahs until ya get to the boss.

Okay.

Can you explain the actual mechanics though?

Ok.

In combat, the enemies will either attack, or block.

You use card to block these attacks, attack back, or buff yourself up.

Each point of block cancels one point of attack from the opponent.

Your health stays constant throughout the encounters, so if you get hurt, you have to find a way to heal.
