In OB, Jasnah says that Stormlight has a faint mass to it, and mass*gravity=weight so would a gemstone on Roshar get lighter because the Stormlight is leaking out? Granted, it's probably not a lot of weight, but still quite a bit. There is also a similar concept for metalminds.

Thoughts?

Possibly, but probably nowhere near the same scale.  Stormlight is Pure investiture manifested as a Gas, so it will have some measurable mass the same way a godmetal or shardpool fluid would.  Separately, Massive amounts of investiture will warp space and time like a gravity well, so technically that would imply that any Investiture should have similar if microscopic impacts on the definitions of weight itself, nearby, as part of the whole Matter/Energy/Investiture relativity law of the cosmere.  So a Full metalmind might prove out to be measurably heavier than an empty one, but I suspect it'll be on the same impractical scale as how you can technically use Relativity to calculate the mass of a given quantity of Sunlight.

I went digging to find the quote for a bit more context, but I couldn't find the quote. Do you onow where in OB she talks about it?

Though to answer your question, if stormlight does have mass, a gemstone leaking stormlight would get lighter.

OB ch 120:

Quote

“It is well, Shallan,” Jasnah said. “I merely wanted to see, as it seemed you were Soulcasting to give your illusions weight. But then, concentrated Stormlight has a faint mass to it. Either way, up the steps, child.”

Yes, if Investiture has mass, then as a gemstone is drained it would lose mass. A balloon filled with air has a higher mass than an uninflated one!

Thanks. I searched for "mass" and "faint", but somehow kept missing it. Sadly, the whole quote doesn't give us any more context. I had hoped there would be enough to make a few conjectures.

100% yes.

Further, this principle is, I suspect, going to be instrumental in the establishment of Investiture conversion and interplanetary trade operations in the Cosmere's Act-2, wherein book plot connectivity is relatively commonplace rather than limited to small Easter eggs like in the very first novels. Weighing, measuring, and converting Investiture between systems is, and has been, a vexing problem with very few reliable solutions for worldhoppers; their typical solution thus far has been to apply overwhelming force so they don't have to worry about details, or avoid conversion completely and carry what they need with them between locations with only a handful of uniquely clever and skilled individuals like Vasher and Hoid creating exceptions.

My prediction? The amount of Stormlight which is eventually determined to be "equal" in Investiture value to a BEU (breath equivalent unit from Sunlit Man) will have the exact same mass as a single Breath when contained in a vessel that doesn't leak.

Yeah, I agree that this will become very relevant in the Cosmere, especially with what Mraize said to Shallan in RoW, something along the lines of it is a big deal being able to trap, contain, and transport Investiture.
