Felicity entered the room given her. It was simple, as one would expect from an inn.

She lied down in the bed, but, exhausted as she was, she struggled to fall asleep.

So keep in mind that inns are a bit nicer than they are in most fantasies.

Aela went into her own room and laid on the bed.

She couldn't sleep with all the ideas in her head, so she found a cup of water and practiced with her new power.

She found that extending herself too much would cause small beads of blood to drop from her. Even more, and her skin would lacerate shallowly. However, when she neared, the window of the room, the cold air surrounded her, healing the cuts and strengthening her.

Interesting.

She experimented for a while, then went to sleep, exhausted.

After a while of not being able to sleep, she started to hum a lullaby that her father would sing to her when she was little. It soothed her to be able to sleep. Despite her humble self-reported singing voice to Mirth, she was actually quite good.

And just like that, she falls asleep.

Sorry.

I just got back from trick or treating. (Dressed with a bridge 4 hoodie and a shade brand, of course)

The song sounds beautiful. Mirth says, softly.

Sun creeped through each of their windows. It was time to move on.

Cole wakes up, surprised nobody had attempted to enter the room he’d taken. Despite his dreams, maybe he’d been being too “Freedom”y - he’d simply tried doors until one was unlocked. His tent-cloak is closer to wings, now, with tent struts repurposed into a frame for the cloth. It was still warm and waterproof, too, so it’d serve as an ordinary cloak when flying wasn’t needed.

“Good morning. How did you… sleep?”

Aela yawned and looked outside at the rising sun.

Since it was much to early for her taste, she laid in bed for a while longer.

Intellect spoke. Remember, there is a deadline here. If you don’t get to Duke Yrla in time, he can’t teach you.

Won’t let me quote 😕

She could sense Mirth there, paying attention. Mirth seemed to be of good humour.

Is… something wrong? She sighed, realizing she didn’t have a change of clothes, and began to head downstairs.

Aela jumped when she heard his voice.

Ugh, she sighed tiredly, Okay . . .

She yawned, then got up and got ready.

What? Oh… no. I was just pondering your songs from yesterday.

Cool! Intellect said, in a jovialish tone. At least, jovial for Intellect.

Songs of your past. A song your father taught you, I believe.

Oh… I’m guessing I couldn’t sleep, and he would always sing lullabies to me when that happened…

”Do you serve breakfast?” she asked the owner.

“Yes, from the abundant farms you see beyond the walls.”
