"WHY IN THE NAME OF RAVEN BLACKJACK ARE YOU LIKE THIS"

Winter just watches the two arguing.

"Maybe you should be yelling?" he says quietly.

These people seem to be bent on getting themselves killed.

"Because life is more fun this way," Sharlin said calmly.

You're also missing a few marbles.

"That helps."

"Winter's got a point," Sharlin whispered. She kept moving, careful to put her feet om safe-looking places. "That said, every other living thing in this place is making their own racket."

Honestly, he thinks its weird, but he doesn't wanna get slammed into the wall again.

"Anyways, whats your next move?"

“When you said you were useful, I assumed you had ideas.” Fourth spits.

Maj looks around in the water, contemplating his options.

If he doesn't see anything threatening in the water, he'll swim out to the cornucopia to grab the speargun and lantern.

Sharlin continued cautiously into the jungle, hoping her companions would follow her.

Maybe there was a cool monster in here she could fight. That would be more fun then hiking all day.

Winter followed Sharlin after scanning the area for any nearby threats.

He hoped the gamemakers would leave them alone. He was going to have a hard enough time making sure these idiots didn't get themselves killed.

He's the opposite of Sharlin. He's happy to try and outlast the other tributes instead of fighting.

The Greenspine is not the only danger… do you by any chance have a mind shielding aviar?

The water is clear and blue and warm and beautiful, and small, colorful fish dart around. It’d be a wonderful day if nothing was trying to kill you.

I do not. That's why I wanted to check the water.

"Bird, do you think those fish'll kill me?"

Bird didn't respond.

"Thanks." Maj said dryly, walking farther on the beach to see if the fish are everywhere.

There is an area the fish seem to be avoiding further up the beach. The bottom in that stretch is covered in loose rocks rather than the fine sand everywhere else. Some of them are rolling back and forth in the current, which is odd.

"Let's focus on looking for water," Sharlin said as they climbed. "There has to be a few streams on this one like the other ones right?"

That's concerning . . .

There was a small bump on the ocean in the horizon.

they're in the jungle proper by now so I don't know if they'd be able to see it

Maj cautiously sticks his machete into the water, testing to see if something immediately kills it, above the are with the rolling rocks. (Or, as much as you can kill a lifeless piece of metal.)

yes but is it realistic for them to see it . . .

oh well

Sharlin stopped hiking to catch her breath. She turned and scanned the way they had come to make sure they're trial wasn't too obvious. Through the trees she saw a strange shape in the ocean.

"Heey does the water look weird to anyone else?"

Just looks like rocks to me--

Squall looks out. "not just you. I can see something...something big is coming, lets keep moving. I can keep an eye on it"
