Sythrin Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 I had recently thought about Nicrosil-feruchemy. With it you can store your innate investiture inside a metalmind and tap it later. Theoreticly if you are a twinborn you could store your allomantic powers inside of it and when you tap increase your allomantic powers temporary, right? Somebody with a-brass could for example than be strong enough to connect to a kandra. But my thought was, if multible twinborns, all with f-nicrosil came together and used hemalurgic duralumin-spike to remove their own identity and connection without dying, than they are theoreticlly identityless. Now if all of them would fill into metalminds their allomantic powers, these metalminds would be unkeyed. And if they would toss it over to one of their fellas, they could become something similar to Mistborn, but with the ability to tap f-nicrosil-metalmind to make themselfs even stronger. Somebody with double f, could even mutliply the other alomantic abilities manyfold theoreticlly. 2

Discussed in this thread (and others - easily searched) because of how Medallions work - even though brandon has said the medallions are similar, but not the same, as a regular Soulbearer Ferring. Also, assuming the original plan is still in place, Era 3 will show an artificial Mistborn (or close to it) as the antagonist. We do not yet know how that will be achieved. From another thread: On 5/29/2023 at 10:54 PM, Treamayne said: Anyway, this should be the WoB you were referencing: Spoiler Pagerunner When you tap the nicrosil portion of a medallion, will it run out over time? Or is it like a coppermind, where something discrete is taken, used, and returned? Brandon Sanderson Good question! Like a coppermind. But, since that is about the Medallion fabrials, it may (or may not) hold true for normal Nicrosil Feruchemy. There are too many assumptions to know for sure yet how it will work until we see a Soulbearer on-screen. 3

We don't know for sure whether Hemalurgic duralumin can effectively blank the Identity from powers or whether an Unkeyed Nicrosilmind can be tapped to gain extra power without any extra steps. Still, it's a good idea, and I think that there's a decent chance of this working. Those Twinborn better get a lot of health from gold Feruchemy beforehand though- permanently stripping your Identity and Connection might leave you in a state similar to a Slave Form Singer (though that's not confirmed either, just a guess of my own based off what was said in OB about their Connection and Identity being taken and wounding them). 3

Honestly, my money is still on Connection manipulation magic for producing artificial mistborn, but your theory has merit. The main problem I see is getting that many twinborn to work together and sacrifice of themselves in order to supercharge one person. The return on investment for a process like that would be...poor...to say the least. More efficient (at least in terms of human labor hours) but potentially less viable methods have also been proposed. My favorite remains the myth that a woman strongly tapping F:Duralumin for Connection while remaining in relative proximity to a concentrated source of Investiture keyed to Harmony (like a perpendicularity) from conception, through pregnancy, and to birth might produce mistborn children without the need to hemalurgically carve anyone up.
