Okay so, I literally just came up with this and I'm running on 5 hours of sleep and 2 shots of espresso. I might be grasping at straws but I also could be onto something.

Kor a vel li um

Xis is ref li el

both have 5 syllables, so that might be a pattern

I think it might be a 2 syllable name (xisis, kora, followed by a 3 syllable descriptor)

Like, ref  is a shortening of a latin word (referendum) meaning "referral" (wow who would've guessed), and "iel" means "of god" iirc. so Xisis, referral of god(s). he studies the aethers which are kinda gods in their own right. I literally could just be going insane here and getting nothing but I thought it was close enough to being something possible that I should bring it up.

I like these lines of thinking.

Even if the pattern you found doesn't turn out to be accurate, I'm sure there are patterns and trends that dragon names follow.

We also have nicknames of dragons; Frost, for Frost, whose real name we don't know, and Foil for Xisis. And, I guess, SP5 spoilers:

Spoiler

Starling, though we don't know her real name either.

I don't know if those nicknames also follow a pattern, or what they reveal about dragon culture...but they're there.

I dunno. I just think dragons are cool and anything we learn about them interests me.
