An IRL Skills-Based RP: Interest/Signups/Planning

Hey y'all!

If you didn't see the SU I posted yesterday, I had a fun idea for an RP that I think y'all will enjoy!

The idea of it revolves around a group of people trying to get to the top of a large mountain, which is in and of itself pretty straightforward. And it actually goes well... until the group realizes that the mountain is filled with kinds of obstacles and puzzles designed to stop them from getting to the summit. So the story will follow the group as each character uses the skills and knowledge they have to help themselves and everyone else get up the mountain! The plot would be player-driven; no narrator or DM/GM. I'm thinking there's a sort of map (aka a list of obstacles/puzzles/challenges that will take place when players decide) that will give a basic outline for what's going to happen, but also you all can decide what happens along the way! If you want there to be an unplanned landslide or a tornado, go for it! 

There is a bit of a twist, though:

You will all play yourselves (for example, my character would be Glass), and your character can only use skills that you have in real life (basically)!

So no magic (unless it's part of a puzzle).

(speaking of puzzles, I was thinking that each/some of the players could design one each, and have their character just be in the background when the group comes to it. makes it a fun surprise for everyone else to solve without making someone [totally not me] design every obstacle.)

This sounds fun! A chance to use my scout skills without having to actually perform said scout skills. And it’s not like I was supposed to start a different RP last Monday and am not done yet… I really should get to doing that.
I do think I can join this, though. I’ll get to making my puzzle.

Do you have an estimate for when we’ll be starting? Do we (our characters) know we’re going to be climbing a mountain and plan accordingly?

I was thinking in about a week. Probably beginning of next week, just to give people a little more time.

Our characters will kind of just appear at the base of the mountain with no other way to go than up (they'll be told that the only way off the mountain is at the top, anyway). The only thing they'll each have with them is a magical backpack (the only magical items they're allowed to have) of their own that contains everything needed for their "skills" (solely for plot convenience and to make things more interesting haha).

and for stuff not puzzle related, maybe like a snowstorm or a rockfall? A rockfall separating us into two groups would be interesting.

I’m making a puzzle (or trying at least. I don’t have as much free time as I’d expected.)

It can be. That's what I was thinking originally but you can be as creative with it as you want to be.

I probably won't have the time (or focus) to make a puzzle..

Tuesday should work.
