"It's not . . . really my business I guess," He explained.

February raised an eyebrow at him. "What are you planning on doing?"

"Making a weapon...*giggles*."

Rye showed her the Ryeling Gun blueprints he made earlier.

"PLEEEAAAASE? I'll let you guys use it!" He didn't mention that whenever he made an advanced weapon for another country, it always started some kind of civil war.

"Fine. I guess I'll just make another mechanical watch, then."

He sat down right where he was, took out a box filled with clockwork and tools, and just started working like he wasn't in the middle of a giant throne room with a couple of dead guys nearby.

Rye triumphantly gifts his mechanical wrist watch to Niamh.

"This is why everyone values me so much," he said. "I can make things so quickly."

“So you don’t know what he’s… what he’s willing to do to get it?”

"Of course I do, he's my father," He let out a surprisingly light-hearted chuckle. "It was only a matter of time before this conflict between us all broke out."

"Your technically still a prisoner here, I'm not going to let you--"

He sighed as Rye began working, "Fine, whatever."

March just shook his head. "He'd better not make more trouble for us."

"I have it handled, you just finish the job," February told him.

June had crumpled to the floor after Arke had broken his arm, holding it close to his body and trying not to cry too loudly. July, still being held back by a guard was watching him raptly, looking sick.

"Do you really have to kill him March?" August asked from the table, "Surely you could--"

"Would you people STOP STALLING ME!" March suddenly yelled, patience run dry.

He swung his sword at June, the blade arching towards his shoulder.

He shrugged. "He says it's necessary, and he knows how these things work much better then I do . . . surely you feel the same?"

Arke catches the blade between his hands.

"You little--Feb this is why we should just kill people! No one actually surrenders when they say they will," March growled.

He jerked the blade in Arke's hands to cut him and get him to let go.

"I merely thought it'd be quicker this way." February replied calmly.

"This not quicker! It shouldn't be this hard to execute one kid! A kid who doesn't even know how to fight at that!"

June used the moment to shakily stand, and started backing away towards the wall.

Even though he couldn't see her, she made strong eye contact with him (or his eyelids, whatever). "September, you have your family. You were born into imperial lineage. I wasn't. I haven't seen my family for nearly as long as you've been alive, I was seven when they took me. Your father was going to kill me because I would rather one of my other 'brothers' be emperor than him, when in the grand scheme I was fine with him being on the throne." Apart from his killing August. "He was going to take my life, and the only chance I've had in a decade to see my family."
