"I have not."

"Of course you haven't, you're not from Worru," June mumbled, reprimanding himself. "That's the name that August used before swearing himself to the Emperor, look him up sometime you'll find out what he did." His voice quivered a little on the last bit. It was clear he didn't want to elaborate.

"Never trust anything he says, he's quite literally a professional liar," June said matter-of-fact-ly. He plopped back down in his chair and went quiet.

Well then.

When June didn't say any more, Niamh began playing a song on her lute to pass the time.

He leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table. Clearly he was analyzing her technique, but if he had an opinion on it, he didn't share it.

She eyed him and started playing again.

After listening for a little while, he pulled out his flute and started playing along with her.

The door slammed open as a large gang of soldiers entered. They wore little armor and bore long rifles like the ones Rye had created instead. They looked very foreign.

"We are looking for a witch," the leader said. Rye exhaled beneath his hood. "He is small and gangly and will be trying to hide himself. Please return him to us unharmed. He is needed."

At the back of the group of soldiers. Sutter grinned.

March looked at him quizzically. "Nope, haven't seen anyone of that description, move along."

Is bluewildrye wanting to do something before we go???? I don't want to cut them off

Bluewildrye: We're leaving this scene soon to timeskip to another city. We only did this scene for exposition purposes. But, if you have something you want to do before then I don't mind.

"Well," said the leader of the guards, "If you see him around, be sure to turn him in. Goes by 'Rye'. Thank you for your time." The soldiers shuffled out of the tavern. Rye exhaled slowly.

"Hey guys," he said finally. "I'm back."
