A gold Misting question

So, if a gold Misting can see past lives and such, would someone from the Irali people be able to see "the One," because that is everyone's past life, and according to their cognition that is what they should see?

I feel lke gold should be affected by the cognitive realm, and we know the Irali will play a bit part later on so it could be worth asking about.

See the problem is we don’t actually know quite how gold works. It may show the past of the user or it may show the present had choices been different in the past. We don’t actually know. But it does seem like this ability is very much within the spiritual, as it is a Fortune ability. Of all the temporal metals it seems the most dependent on the cognitive, but gold is still a spiritual metal. I don’t think it would show an iriali the one because it works based on the users spiritweb and should only show things related to the user. Now, if the user is actually made of pieces of the one, and they use a very large amount of gold with duralumin, they may be able to see the one. Only if the one is actually part of their past and they are actually able to see the past with gold. It’s a very interesting question but rather unanswerable.

Please see these threads for significant discussion of known and suspected uses for A-Gold. Based on known on-screen examples (Vin and Miles - references in linked threads),  Augers will see a versoin of their present as-if some significant event in th epast were diffenent (For Vin, it was has she not joined Kelsier and learned to trust, for Miles it was if he had not turned his back on his oath as a lawman and foundedd the Vanishers). So, it's not seeing "past lives," ancestry, heritage, etc. (which does mean there would not be a way to accomplish that, but it would likely need something other than just A-Gold (even flared or enhanecd with Duralumin/Nicrosil)

Gold does seem to be affected by the Cognitive Realm, in-that the Gold Shadow is likely to be based on an event during which the Misting's Cognitive Identity experienced a significant shift/change.
