One research paper in condensed matter I found referenced The Rolling Stones: ...and they sourced it in the footnotes! Found it entertaining. Not a really pertintent to anything specific but I always come back to this fact whenever we try to anticipate technological progressions on fantasy worlds. 1

Cash67 Posted June 5, 2024 Author Posted June 5, 2024 oh, believe me, I noticed. This paper uses some of the best language I’ve seen published. Also, that paper ain’t bad for anyone who wants to know what I actually do for research. It’s a really good and accessible summary.
The Bookwyrm he/him Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 This is one of my favorite papers. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1311997/ It's very relevant across a wide number of fields; I cited it in my light pollution study and my hot jupiter study, and I think it's also cited by a published biochemistry paper. 1
