Glamdring804 Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Sarene. I've always been a fan of strong female characters, and she just kills in this division. Thank you, Brandon, for using so many independent, female leads in your works.
Colours Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 The main thing I remember about Sarene is when she acts far, far too little-girl-ish in front of the king. It's hilarious, and still somehow manages to get the job done. Because fencing is totally a little girl hobby. Reckless meddlers like her are always fun.
Sarcasm she/her Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Have you all gone kayana? Galladon! Just plain comic relief. Even the most dystopian society needs that. 1
Varyn he/him Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 I voted Raoden; how can one not be intrigued by his storyline? That being said, Hrathen's role reversal at the end was the best moment in the entire book, and I can see why many said him. Sarene's not getting too lucky in this poll
Glamdring804 Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Have you all gone kayana? Galladon! Just plain comic relief. Even the most dystopian society needs that. Yeah, but he ends up chasing after Hoid for some reason. Favorite characters don't do that. Period. Hoid is off-limits.
Infinite Citadel Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 I was a big fan of kiin, no particular reason 1
ParadoxicalZen he/him Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Hmm, Elantris is always a hard one for me to pick faves. There just isn't any one trait of any character that i love or hate because for me, they're all quite coookie cutter-like. Not to say that is a bad thing but I just don't get any of the cheer/root feels. So i just went with Other ^^
Zathoth Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Hrathen. He really was the high point of the book for me. Just a man thinking he is doing what is right and ends up the villain because of it. Funny to see how the "villain" is more popular than the main character too XD 2
natc Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Hrathen arrived intending to become the savior of Arelon. And he did. He would've never imagined how it happened, but oh he totally did. 1
Peng the Just he/him Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 HRATHEN all the way! Best character development I've ever seen in any book.
Sol Invictus he/him Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Sarene. Girl's got both guts, brains AND acting skill. You gotta respect that!
Landis963 he/him Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 We have to pick one? *sighs* Hrathen. Sarene is a close second (her perspective's fun to read in a way Raoden's never was), but Hrathen beats her out.
Yata he/him Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Quite sure Galladon, he is the true spirit of Elantris not Raoden or the MegaRao Aon XD
nicocoberru she/her Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Joining the bandwagon for Hrathen. I love how, even though he was a villain for all of the other characters, he actually is doing something that he genuinely believe will save the people. I love his belief in his faith (kinda funny since I do not have any XD) and the fact that, in the end, he still believes in his religion even if he no longer believe in his Wyrm. I just, I find it beautiful. Plus, I love that his first chapter and the last chapter closed it each other perfectly, all that Savior of Arelon stuff. I love bookends ending. After that would be Raoden, Sarene, Galladon, Saolin, Karata and Roial.
