Unknowingly he/him Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 So a couple of days ago I searched on Google to see if there were any updates on the Mistborn:Birthright game and found that there was literally nothing. So I found them on Facebook and sent them a message. This is what they said:(see in attached picture) So I guess we just have to wait a bit and there will be new information soon. 15
Bunnyburn he/him Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 It's wonderful to know that they are still trying to make it happen. Thanks, Connor, for taking initiative and refreshing my hope. I had basically written it off, so I'm glad I don't need to give up hope quite yet. 2
Unknowingly he/him Posted October 14, 2014 Author Posted October 14, 2014 I know what you mean. I had almost given up as well but the idea of this game if they get it right is just amazing. If they nail the gameplay and stick to Brandon's original story then it will be worth the wait. 1
WeiryWriter he/him Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Thanks for this! I know Peter mentioned a while back on twitter that they were hopeful about a couple of things so it's nice to see that things might actually start to work out. To be honest as happy I will be when (or if) the game comes out I'm not too terribly upset about it being delayed. One would think that they could take advantage of advancements in gaming technology, right? (And really I'm going to have no life when it comes out) 4
Shadowspren he/him Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 This question has probably already been answered, and if not it will most likely be answered in the update mentioned above. In the original announcement of the creation of this game, was it announced what consoles it would be made for?
WeiryWriter he/him Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Originally? I'd say 360/PS3/PC. One of the reasons it got pushed back was to move it to next-gen consoles.
king of nowhere Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 That announcement does nothing to improve my optimism. "there is a major announcement in the works (hopefully)" is just PR talk for "we have nothing to show and we may never have". it's like when you look for a job and they say "we'll call you". It's just a polite way to say no. Now, I don't want to be entirely negative - it is fully possible that they want to wait the next generation of consoles so that their game won't become outdated in a few months - but I'm just not as confident in the eventual release as I was a couple years ago. My faith in it has been pushed in the same place as my faith in the mistborn movie, or the wot movie: I will believe it when I'll be watching the end titles. 1
PeterAhlstrom he/him Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Actually this is a very important step. But it could still fall through. 15
Oudeis he/him Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 (edited) Can we Kickstart? EDIT: ... To be clear, my faith in Kickstarter is even lower than my faith in this game ever being made, but for a Sanderson property I will kick the football one more time. Edited October 16, 2014 by Outis
Unknowingly he/him Posted October 16, 2014 Author Posted October 16, 2014 Thanks for replying Peter. Whatever the announcement ends up being, I am just very excited to finally hear something about the game. Good to hear that this is a big step forward as well.
king of nowhere Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 thanks peter for letting us know that it wasn't just pr talk for "we've done nothing". I am a bit more hopeful now. although I still give the game less than even chance of seeing the light of the day.
Havoc Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 It's almost certainly an update to this: Development was stalled for years after the loss of talent at the developer. The studio is in talks with a different development team, and there was an important step in that discussion last week, but nothing has been agreed yet and there's nothing to announce.
killersquirrel59 he/him Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 I hope it's not next gen exclusive. I really have no desire to buy either a PS4 or Xbox One. Both systems look like absolute crap. 1
dants he/him Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Did we ever find out what the announcement was?
WeiryWriter he/him Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Did we ever find out what the announcement was? No, but it hasn't been very long. "Soon" is always a relative term in these situations. Personally, I'm going to wait until at least the new year before I start wondering where it is...
Shaggai Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 I hope it's not next gen exclusive. I really have no desire to buy either a PS4 or Xbox One. Both systems look like absolute crap. It'll probably be on PC as well, at the very least.
Moash Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 I could really see (if done properly) Mistborn becoming the biggest franchise of Little Orbit and well their first actual trademark games series. Wouldn't it be great if Mistborn eventually became a big name in gaming? I do believe that there is some fine opportunity here for Little Orbit and hope that they make use of that opportunity and create something beautiful.
killersquirrel59 he/him Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 So, did this announcement ever happen?

gjustice99 she/her Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 I don't play videogames but I would DEFINITELY play this one. If it wasn't on PC then I would buy whatever gaming system it came on no matter the cost just so I could play it.
