He smiled. He was lucky to have such a good ally. Most other people would have let him die. He hated feeling so useless though.

"Alright," Jane stepped back, having finished adjusting crutches. "Try taking a step."

He did, and the pain and nausea erupted again, but he could handle it this time.

He's now backed into the wall, it's a small room :)

She comes closer and begins moving the cup to his lips. "Feel...better..."

Kaza hits a wall. "Nononono- no thanks..."

She presses the cup to his lips. It’s icy cold, but doesn’t pass through him. She cocks her head. “It’ll-it’ll-it’ll make you-make you-make you feel-feel better. Better.”

She steps back, abruptly beginning to bustle about with food. It’s as if Kaza has given her a cue. “Your father will be home soon.”

“You killed us,” the girl repeats, and suddenly the corridor lights up with a strange and powerful blue light, every cell easily visible…and there are more ghosts. Each cell holds between half a dozen and a dozen children…there have to be hundreds in total. In the space between them there are adults who stare at the children cruelly.

"I didn't." He insisted.

Sharpo then turned to one of the adults. "I suppose your capitol then?"

“Yeah, I can walk…just not fast.”

"Okay, okay try walking..." She ran back a few feet, "To me."

He did, tears springing to his eyes at the pain.

Once he reached her, she held his arms to stabilize him.

"You okay?"

"Nah, you would've been fine," Jane swatted the air playfully and winked.

"Do you think you'd be able to follow me? Just over to that rooftop there," Jane nodded to the clay tiled rooftop that she had spotted earlier  (@Edema Rue?).

"We can always take a break. Y'know. To catch our breath."

Jane swung her pack over her shoulder and briefly scanned around the area to make sure nothing was left behind. Her hand quickly checked the right side pocket of her high-waisted rough denim cargo pants, which she had been doing quite frequently over the last few days.

Once she confirmed that she had everything, she nodded and began walking off into the distance. She had to inspect the structure. It was hidden my the trees and smoke came from it's chimney. It seemed sweet. Cheery, even. Almost like that old tale... Hansel and Gretel, was it?

Perhaps that was the source of the men's screams.

He followed her, wincing every step.
