He sends layers of plants through the ground, and he feels tiredness sweep across him, as a pulse of green magic comes from him, and sweeps the daggers out of the way, and try to wrap all of the either illusionary or real demigods.

She picked Sword back up. Jenny nearly took the opportunity to go after Roy now that Aaron was distracting them, but stopped herself. That wouldn’t be fair. She wanted to fight fair. She still held Sword in a ready position, however. Jenny wasn’t going to take any chances.

Edgar slashed at the vines with the dagger Jenny had given him. It was slow work.

Aaron

"Stop" Aaron yells again. He did not want to see something happen between his friends, and another pulse of green power sweeps out from his body. His body convulses, running on adrenaline. More pulses start expanding out, and with each pulse of green that spread from his body, plants grew to immense heights, grew with immense speed, and spread faster than the eye could follow.

Aaron screams. A sound that seemed to echo through the plants, and furthered their power. Wrapping things tightly in their grip. 

Aaron watches with disbelief, his eyes clouded, but falls to the ground his young body exhausted from the power the had been swept out of it.

The plants returned with a newfound fury, wrapping around Jenny even tighter. She couldn’t move a muscle. She began to panic as the vines around her chest constricted. It felt like it was getting harder to breathe. In actuality it wasn’t. She could breathe fine. She still took quick, shallow breaths, however. Jenny was trapped. The plants were now too thick to freeze. She couldn’t escape. She needed to escape.

Jenny’s eyes widened. Movement was impossible, her body completely stuck in place. She felt helpless. She hadn’t felt helpless in this way for a very long time.

Not only was she in danger, she couldn’t protect Ed either. She couldn’t let Roy hurt him. Jenny shoved down her terror at being trapped. She needed to be calm for this to work. Reaching out with her mind, she found Roy’s awakeness and attempted to snuff it out.

In the meantime, Gift turned into a spinning serrated blade. She could barely hold it, but it was quickly beginning to saw through the vines.

Aaron

Aaron feels the veil of unconsciousness overtake him. He feels his power draining, and hi connection to the plants fading, weakening. He falls unconscious and he feels the connections severs, turning the plants back to normal.  

Dreamscape

Aaron looks up at the mess of vines, that were vaguely in the shape of a woman. He could tell without knowing that this was his mother. Demeter. "Mum" he cries approaching the goddess. She looks back at him, not refusing the touch that his hug offers. 

"Hello, my child" she responds, "How are things going in your own quest. For righteousness?" The dream slips away swiftly however, and he is pulled back into the present without the chance to say anything.

Feeling the plants fall away, Jenny sighed with relief. She’d escaped, she was ok. She instinctively looked towards Ed, making sure he was alright too. This left her back turned towards Roy.

Jenny began to step towards Ed, a look of concern on her face. He needed her help. Suddenly, she felt a piercing pain stab through her and screamed. Lightning coursed within her body. Barely managing to look downwards due to her involuntary convulsing, she saw the head of a spear sticking out from her side.

She fell to her knees, silent. She couldn’t get words out. What was that so hard?

Edgar screamed. He’d hurt her, he’d hurt Jenny. He’d kill him. He’d kill Roy.

 He struggled, tearing himself out of his bonds, then ran to Jenny. He took the spear out of her side, and put ambrosia in her mouth. Then he sprinted towards Roy, his dagger held out. He raised it over his limp body.

Jenny bared managed to choke down the ambrosia. The wound in her side slowly began to knit back together, no longer life-threatening. She looked back to Ed, seeing him raising his knife.

STOP HIM.

Jenny’s eyes went glassy and she ran over to Edgar, attempting to tackle him away from Roy.

Edgar felt something hit his side, knocking him to the ground. He swung his fist, feeling it connect with the monster. Then he looked up. It was Jenny.

 You stupid child. Why are you like this. Why are you even alive.

 He stopped moving, but his entire body began trembling. He’d almost killed someone. It was good Jenny had stopped him.

Jenny barely registered Ed’s punch. She’d attacked him. Why had she done that? He was trembling, she had clearly scared him.

She scrambled backwards, eyes wide. That hadn’t been her acting. That was someone else. She hadn’t been in control. She was a liability now.
