Jenny’s complaint was a bit muffled through the sleeping bag. She didn’t emerge from her cocoon.

AAron nudges her with his toe again. "Come on Jenny, we have got to go or a war could break out, do you want that on your consciousness when you realise you could have stopped it IF YOU GOT UP!" he roars the last part

Jenny peeked out of the sleeping bag. What was with Aaron recently? He was so worried about making it to their destination on time. She was worried about it too, but it wasn’t like they were that far behind. She grumbled under her breath.

”You don’t have to be so rude about it.”

She carefully sat up, then ate a bit more ambrosia. The wound her in side healed further, and she sighed as some of the pain vanished. Carefully, Jenny stood up. Walking would be more difficult than usual, but she could probably support herself at this point.

"I heard that" Aaron yelled across his shoulder, as he walked around to see if anyone else was still asleep.

Jenny noticed the daggers arrayed next to her bag and smiled. Ed probably had done that after she’d spilled them.

”Thanks, Ed.”

She returned them to their former container, repeating her very sharp game of Tetris. Seeing Lucid standing next to Ed, she waved.

”Hi, Lucid!”

“To test how much it hurts. Yesterday, poking it was more painful. That means it’s healing pretty well.”

Was Roy concerned that Jenny was hurting herself or just curious? She decided that she didn’t want the answer to that question and started putting her hair back up into a bun. That was the most convenient hairdo in the event they got into yet another monster fight.

Jenny briefly glanced around, anyways. Everything seemed clear.

”And maybe having two people per watch from now on is a good idea.”

Edgar glared at him. “I think you look amazing,” he said honestly. The bun was messy, yes, but he didn’t think Jenny could look bad.

Had Aaron been talking about her? On the surface his comment made sense. Having her face in the newspaper would be bad. But something about the way he had said it, calling her appearance “that”, felt like it was mean. Like there was something wrong with her face. Her expression saddened slightly. 

Ed thought she looked great, but was he just exaggerating to cheer her up? Maybe he was the only person who thought she was pretty. Maybe she looked ugly to everyone else.

Jenny wasn’t sure if Aaron was being genuine or just trying to make her feel better after realizing his comment had hurt her. She took her bun down. Best for her face not to be shown in the paper regardless of the reason.
