Eventually, he broke the kiss, but kept holding her to him.

“What was it you had said about everyone watching?” he said with a chuckle.

Jenny turned red again, although not quite as red as last time. She honestly wanted to run away and go hide somewhere, escape the attention, but she didn’t want to break out of Edgar’s embrace. Even though she was overheating, she liked his warmth.

“Would you…like to sit down?” he asked. He was tired, he’d forgotten that in the moment, but now it crashed down on him.

“Yep.”

Jenny stumbled back over to her tree and plopped down, careful to avoid messing up the crickets. She still felt rather embarrassed, especially now that Edgar wasn’t holding her anymore, so she got out her jacket and hid under it. She was still grinning, though.

Edgar sat next to her. She was under her jacket…what should he do? He wanted to hold her again, but it didn’t seem like he’d be able to do that right now. Instead, he placed a hand on her back, rubbing it in a small circle.

Jenny scooted closer, but still stayed under the jacket. She could sense her blush slowly disappearing, although it wasn’t like anyone could notice that. She felt like a frightened tortoise. Now she understood the appeal of a shell like that.

Jenny’s gonna hide for a solid half hour at this point :P

Edgar scooted right up next to her, keeping his hand on her back. He was happy to stay like that for as long as she wished.

Eventually, Jenny peeked out from under her jacket. She noticed that Harold and Rob were outside and Roy, Kasa, and Aaron were inside. Maybe it was time to rejoin the others outside.

I’m fine to timeskip to walking again/nighttime/the morning whenever everyone else is. No rush, though.

"It's been kind of boring. After you turned the building to a forest, I've just sat here. You do kind of have to see to use a bow, you know." Harold says, very bored. "I debated whether to go for a run, but decided not to. You guys could have left the forest at any time and I didn't want to not be here."

"sorry" he said sheepishly "Though it's probably the best as otherwise you'd be dead which would not be good."

SKIP!

“Are you ready to go, or do you need some more time?” Edgar asked Jenny. She still seemed tired, but they needed to get going again. He was tired too , though the Gorgon’s blood had healed his wounds. It was good to be not hurting all the time. And it was good to be by Jenny. @RoyalBeeMage @..... @The Clarinetist @Lunamor

“We need to start moving again.”

Jenny stuffed her jacket back in her bag and stood up, offering Edgar her hand to help him get up too. She was dead tired, but he was probably doing worse than she was. It was a wonder neither of them had fallen asleep already.

Jenny had no idea if Roy was trying to be mean or not, so she assumed the worst and shot a glare at him.

”Yes.”

He took it, standing up. His muscles cried out in protest, but he ignored them. He didn’t let go of her hand after he stood up.

Jenny left the clearing and exited through the trees to the outside world, tugging Edgar along with her. She moved slightly slower than usual, both for her and Edgar’s sake. She internally lamented the lack of a bus again. Jenny waved at Rob and Harold.

He followed her, smiling. He thought about how hard it was to not smile around Jenny again. She was just so…perfect. He looked at Rob and Harold, but didn’t wave.

Aaron

AAron walked along the others. He had turned in quickly the night before. Eager to get away from ... what was happening outside. As they walked along the forest floor, the ground crunching beneath their feet. He thinks about his dream. Stop worrying he thinks to himself. You will get it done.

Jenny scanned through the paper over Edgar’s shoulder. Unfortunately, a connection had been drawn between Medusa’s death and the “puppies’” death. They seemed to be building a reputation. Finding a beheaded body likely upgraded their status in the eyes of the public to serial killers.

”Thankfully it doesn’t have any pictures of us.”

“I agree, it’s best if people have a hard time recognizing us.” He smiled at her, then whispered so only she could hear. “Not that I mind pictures of you.”

Jenny smiled softly. Edgar was so kind. She still didn’t quite understand what he saw in her, but she now knew that he was being completely sincere.

“We need to figure out how we are going to travel next. We can’t make it to the underworld in time on foot.”

She glanced briefly at Edgar. She wasn’t sure that he would be able to walk miles each day either.

'I don't think we will be able to walk the full way either. Public transport will be too noticeable. So we may have to rely on something, from our world."

He glances at the others. "What do you think about the Labyrinth?"
