I sit impatiently in the waiting area. My feet tap against the floor to a quick beat. I stare blankly at the clock, running my hand up and down my pants to find something to hold on to.

The ambulance pulls into the ER, and Stick is wheeled inside.

Ráven sighs and heads back into the courtroom. “Anybody here?” they ask. “Anyone want to play a game to distract ourselves from the dying girl?” Is everyone at the hospital? Probably. At least they care. Unlike me.
