Effects of welding on Metallic Arts

Something I've been wondering about is the effects that welding metals together would have on the Metallic Arts, mostly Feruchemy and Hemalurgy. 

What would happen if you welded a non-Invested piece of iron to an Ironmind/Spike? Would the Investiture spread to the non-invested part? Would it count as two objects attached to one another?

This most likely depends upon Cognitive Identity. Example

When one looks at a Stainless Steel workbench, people will see it as one thing - a workbench - and it likely sees itself the same. It doesn't matter at all that the legs were welded onto the frame or that the frame was welded to the top. It is what it is seen as being - a workbench.

So, if you weld a small ball to the top of a Spike - you have . . . a small ball welded to a sharp object. A handle? A really Really large map pin?

You see my point? A welded object likely cannot function as "one" until and unless people see it (and it sees itself) as one thing, rather than two connected things.

I boosted my skills by checking a welding schools and certification guide, which helped me sort out the right training path and pick the AWS tests I needed. It made the whole process way less confusing, especially while juggling apprenticeships and gear practice.

You probably didn't see that, I've done it a few times myself, just something to keep in mind for the future.
