He didn't answer, unable to concentrate on her as the voices overwhelmed him. He tried to change the bonds so he would hear less, but there were far too many connections and he couldn't maintain his focus.

He fell to his knees, still holding her hand. His glow got brighter as he drew on more power in an effort to do anything other than sit there. He tried to compartmentalize his mind like he had when the Queen showed him this, but he couldn't seem to manage it, maybe because this time the connections were actually his.

"It's... okay." His voice was louder than normal, like he was talking over something, and he seemed to have trouble getting the words out.
