The Being flings a hand out, and a strange weapon, long with two spiked sides like a harpoon, a hollow area in the center, appears in his hand. He points it towards the boulder and it is sliced in half, smashing into the walls, all made of Essence now, and melting away. "I don't have intestines, feeble entity."

“A sound can always be silenced,” Pic says, summoning his staves once again. His tune changes to a fast, happy, almost jarring tune, full of bouncing bass lines and quick descents. Each line of the staves drips from his fingers as a whip.

At this the man looked at the two prisoners. When his eyes locked on Elan, he felt as though the man were seeing into his very soul, and every horrible thing that had ever happened to him was brought to his mind. Judging by the gasp Aventine let out when he looked at her, she was experiencing the same thing.

“I don’t IMPERSONATE!” Elan says. He immediately regrets it.

The female guard's hand moved to a knife on her belt. Don't make any sudden movements, she sent to Elan, and trust me.

Pic was backed into the walls of Tal’s cell. Noticing that Tals cell was the only place left to hunker down, Pic slipped into the cell with Tal. 
 

And met silence. 
 

This was his fear. Being able to produce music, but not having it respond was like being cut off from breathing itself. Pic began to hyperventilate and had to will himself not to move.

Tal gasped. No. Nononononononon-

The he stood up. He would not let the clinic be destroyed. This was home for all the creatures who didn’t have one, and he would not let it be taken from them.

Listen to me, he sent to the voice in his mind. Destroy? It asked. Tal refused it. A small fire appeared on his hand, and he let it spread. But for the first time, he restrained it. Create, he sent. Protect.

There is a shadow, even darker, moving towards them. The Being was standing outside of the box.

He slammed a hand against the box and another crack appeared.

Essence began leaking in, drip by drip, but it evaporated the moment it reached the anti-magic barrier.

She tried to attack it, fling stuff at it, but nothing worked. It deflected and blocked everything.

It grabbed her arm. "Usually it's only the men who resist this much."
