Pic nodded, and let that statement hang in the air. He looked Aventine in the eyes, trying to hear what was going on in her head.

Lundyn instantly felt a PULL that led downstairs. She began slowly drifting across the floor of her room.

Just making sure you saw it

How do you want me to describe what's going on in her head?

"Can I? Really? Ooh, I'm so excited! Can you take me? You look like you need outside too."

Tal winced. “Ah…maybe Trevor can. I think it’s best if I stay here.”

But Tal make people happy. Old guy not happy.

"I'll try to keep it from her," she laughed. She wiped more of the glitter off her face. She made sure to keep their fingers laced.

Not always, Tal sent. There are…things we can’t control. And sometimes people make mistakes.

"Who's Trevor? The fuzzy thing? Cool. I can go with him. Come on Trevor!" Almond promptly turns around and runs out of sight.

“Yeah Trevor is the…hawk…” Tal trailed off as Almond ran off.

Pic is good at listening to people, but nowhere near as good at reading them. Describe what you think he would see. He is not reading her mind.

She looked worried, and a little ashamed. Beyond that, though, there was hope buried deep in her eyes.

Trevor met his eyes. No eat... yet. No sad Tal. He flew after Almond.

Almond runs around the clinic erratically, clearly not knowing where to go. "Come on Trevor! We need to see the outside! I wonder who else lives here. It seems pretty empty."

Trevor did the hawk-equivalent of a sigh, then picked up Almond and his staff gently in his talons. He flew them to one of the courtyards.

Sounds good, Tal sent. When the bird was gone, he leaned back, closing his eyes. Stars and spirits, but I'm tired...I want to help them. I should be able to help them. He knew it was safer for everyone if he stayed away. Out of sight, out of mind. At least this way I won't be giving them another monster to deal with.

"Whee! Ooh, what's that blue stuff? And what's that!" Almond points to a large thing in the distance.

I have no clue what the thing is, I just wanted to add some drama or something. It might be a mountain or a monster, he's never seen either of  those.

Water. Tree. Almond could hear this in his mind.

"You can talk! Like me! I've never met someone else like me! That's why they wanted me. I got away though. The outside is so cool! I love it out here."

Trevor cocked his head. You talk with mouth. Trevor talk with brain. Away?

"Yeah, away from the bad people with the white coats. They were mean, poking and prodding and saying words I didn't understand. They called me freak, subject and unnatural." He visibly dims as he talks about this. "But I got away, and I found this!" Almond holds out his staff which glows with a strange golden light. "It helped me run away."

"It's a telepoi - telo - teleportation staff, that's what the label said. It makes me go places really fast. Like this!" At that he vanishes from view and appears a little bit farther away, he does this a few times until he's back where he started.

“I’m glad they told you,” he hummed. “I will never be sad that you are here, and will always be sad when you leave.”

"Yep! We should go inside? Do you know anyone else? I'd like to meet new friends!" He begins hopping up and down in excitement.

aight... then I'll just skip Thaid cause I'll prob have an idea what to do with him once I get back later on. As for Lyla and the other thing...

Aight, I'm just gonna make a few things about Lyla happen so that my being gone works with the role-play

Lyla was in the lobby, presumably. The clinic... ahhh, she'd heard of this place long ago. Perhaps far too much. She looked around, awed by the oddness. It was weird, straight up. Yet, when one is in close proximity to weird for extended periods, it tended to grow into the familiar, the known, the normal. It was odd. One could live in a place wholly odd, yet never realize it.

Yet... there was something off. She sensed Soulless all over the lobby. there was something here. She turned to tel someone, yet her mouth didn't move. It couldn't.

Reaching into her mind was... something. A thing. Perhaps a nothing. Tangible and real yet it never had been, never would be and never could. A voice whispered in her mind, pulling her sanity and consciousness. She fought as hard as she could, yet the pain in her leg struck her attempts down like a sword against a sandwich, or her mouth against a juice box.

And, soon, she was gone. In her place was... a thing, from beyond time and beyond space. A thing with glowing red eyes.

The thing knew where it was. It knew the clinic like it knew the back of its hand, yet... it was unfamiliar. Unfamiliarity was his familiar, and, perhaps, familial relative. Reality had changed, and so had the thing.

In the depths of insanity, it had found a new name. Skiasmenos. Shadowed. Skiasmenos felt the mental capacities in the body it now occupied, seeing the patterns that had formed in behavior. Ahhh... this would be easy. This one was known as being insane. Being unfamiliar. That would play to Skiasmenos' strengths.

For now... Skiasmenos guided the body towards a small crevice in the clinic. A place long abandoned by its owner. Twisted, changed, deformed. Lifting a hand to knock the dusty sign, Skiasmos closed its eyes. The words played in its newly stolen mind, exactly from memory.
